I regret how much time I spent being angry at friends for not being there. My mom has end-stage kidney disease, and a good four years of my life the friends I had wouldn't touch me with a ten foot pole. She's getting a kidney in a month (<3), so we'll see how that goes, and a few of them now remember I exist, but things will never be the same. I know the quality of their friendship now, I just wish I hadn't wasted so much energy trying to save what we had and being angry and heartbroken over it.
