There is a way to counter wards with Zeus, his passive is everytime he uses a skill, he hits anything within the radius, and gives true sight to things invisible for a few seconds. Just saying :3

I just started to do random in co-op bot games and oh my god did the game just get hell of a lot harder. So many new things to learn aaah. But I guess it's all worth it in the end. I guess it doesn't help that I got a melee class first try when I only play ranged characters, heh.

Shadowwinter a dit : Like everyone has said, this game has a huuuuuuuuuuuge learning curve. It takes a lot of commitment and effort to actually learn the game well, but it's totally worth it in the end. I've been playing Dota/Hon for nearing 5 years now and I'm not even close to getting bored of it. And I'm still learning new stuff all the time. |

Well just ran into one of the more distastful people and many more to come. Complained because I didn't rush with him early in the game and he kept dying then tried to play it off as I was a coward for running away with low hp and that I abandoned him in a team fight we were losing (There was one invis, so we were equally matched). Meh, just a bad game I guess. Hopefully the next one will go better.

Better to run than feed, RIGHT? Don't worry about people like that, I had a player vs player match where both teams were bitching throughout the entire game at a russian. Just ignore 'em and report them if they're terrible.

I tried to word something like that but I wasn't sure if it was feeding or not, so I kind of held off on making any remark and later when my team go together and killed the entire team they made a snarky remark saying "see what happens you fight" and I just replied yeah, when the team is actually smart about it" even though I died in the process.. I still like to believe I did enough damage and that's all that matters to me is that I got my team extra experience at the cost of my own coin. Little rant, just a bit.. But I don't understand why people complain over bot matches, espicially on easy difficulty. Also once I figure out how to report I'll do so next time I see someone like that.

Bring up the score list (one of the little icons on the left, or push the key that it is bound to), click their names and there should be a report option if I recall correctly.

I played parts of the tutorial. Dragon Knight is alright, Sniper though... Most annoying character and pretty bad IMO... I haven't really played Pudge but I still love him.

There are certain heroes that seem awesome in low level games (drow, spirit breaker, sniper, viper, riki, night stalker, zeus, broodmother etc) but start becoming worse once you get to a level where your opponents can actually counter those heroes - Riki is a good example of that, no one who is decent at the game wants to play him because they know the permanent invisibility is a really bad ultimate as it is countered by 90 gold on every fight. And heroes that might seem bad and way too hard for what they offer in low level games (chen, enchantress, enigma, meepo, dark seer etc) are more utilized by the more skilled people. So yeah, the biggest mistake you can make is to only play those easy pubstomping heroes for it will backfire if you keep on picking them once your opponents get better. Versatility is the key. In fact, I'd advice learning heroes with at least some skill requirement first (like windrunner and rubick, they have ridiculously high skillcaps but can do well even with just the basics), 'cause if you learn a few hard heroes, you surely can play the easy heroes too.

I disagree with you about some of those heroes being useless at high skill levels. Spirit breaker, Viper and Nightstalker all have their place even in competitive match. As long as you have your priorities right in who you are ulting/silencing/slowing etc. Even Spirit Breaker is picked in pro games to counter split pushing strategies, and NS and Viper have both been picked as strong mid heroes from time to time.

Trainspotter a dit : I agree to a certain extent. The thing with Viper and NS is that they're highly situational picks but indeed can work insanely well in heavy snowball lineups, but they're just not versatile enough to be constant picks. SB has just seen a recent rise in the competitive, and it seems to be fairly effective, so on that I agree fully. There's just a huge difference in the playstyle in competitive compared to low level pubs on the hero. Any hero can stomp pubs though, so I'm not saying the heroes are bad, it's all about the players. Some heroes just aren't as overpowered as it first might seem, so concentrating on playing those particular heroes just because winning is fun is not exactly adviceable. |

Meepo's a pretty fun character, but skills were a bit hard to use.. Ehh, I ended up getting a triple kill on bots so that was fun. \o/
