Go to the world map, then go to the right hand corner, where there are trees. Click beneath one of the trees and then i think you know the rest.
Edit: Yes, i killed a knight and received knight body armor. I guess there are some places where the octopuses are useful.
Edit2: Now that i have teleport, the octopuses are no longer a problem :)

You can't pass the sea, It is a neverending level. Nice if you want money, but that is why you keep your stuff if you die.
