You must be new here(sorry, had to do it). Map Crew applications are rather different from to Moderator or to Sentinel. It'd be weird if they close because there are more chances of someone leaving the Map Crew instead of someone joining. This and the shit-load of work, they'll usually need more people than they have or they'll ever have.
Therefore, it's most likely that Map Crew applications won't close. If someone joins them it's going to be posted here(I guess?) and in the official Map Crew thread.
