I initially thought that there was some invisible lady that would cover the sky with her robes and thus why the sky changes in color (thanks, Fantasia).

I also thought that if you step over a grave of someone, their ghost would come and pull you with your legs and do horrible things to you, according to my mom.

One other thing was how I was curious about how the fan worked. I thought there was some little men working and powering the mechanisms in the fan, thus making it spin. That's why I felt somewhat guilty after using the fan too long for my own benefit at the expense of their work... heh, amusing.
