Anyway, back on topic. "Nightmare" says to me that all the games in FnaF means it was all just a dream, it was all just in someone's head this whole time. The purple man could be the person who is dreaming, it could represent bad experiences, it could represent becoming a bad person, driven to insanity, being looked down on, being chased. The children could be victims of this too, perhaps victims of the purple man meant victims of bullying or abuse in reality. Was any of this real? Were the animatronics representing the feeling of being watched, or even chased?

It's just a theory. A game theory.

Though if all those are just a dream and effects of the reality of the purple man, all those mysteries and buildup from the previous hints would just be thrown away. If it is an ending like that, it is interesting but disappointing in my opinion considering all the hints they've given throughout the game.

This is the only way Scott could make hate the series. The "it was all a dream" trope is the laziest piece of shit writing to ever be pulled out of someone's ass and if you do it you are a terrible writer.
