after seeing this art (and comparing the official art, heights, whatnot), it seems possible, the resemblance is there! though i think it would be unlikely because there are a decent amount of mons that don't evolve into each other but resemble each other.

cherrim is a cherry, bounsweet is a mangosteen if i recall. so they're totes different haha
