Oi. imo this game is turning terrible. Why can't you just do filtr or whatever its called if you don't want to see the swears. its just plan stupid most people play this game so we don't get banned for swearing. Should of debugged the totem instead of adding this. js.

Well, this was a horrible idea. Censorship never works, sorry. Here are a few reasons:

• What's bad in some languages is everyday talk in others. You're censoring people from saying normal things in their own language in an attempt to stop people from saying uncommon and situationally offensive things in someone else's. As Bogshot mentioned, negro is the color black in Spanish. And in Spanish it is not offensive. Nor is the word itself truly offensive in the English language (negro refers to "black people," is just as offensive as "black people," and is shorter than "black people" and its politically correct counterpart "African-American" [because every negro doesn't live in America and there's no other term for them...]). Similar, more severe situations in other languages, as mentioned by Tuliomumic: "falo" can mean "penis" or it can mean "I speak." With a game diversified across 11 communities, you aren't going to pull off censorship for every one of them without destroying communication with the others.

• It's impossible to avoid workarounds. Censorship depends on strict input and can be manipulated like taking candy from a baby. You can start replacing capital "i" with "L" and lowercase "L" with capital "i," simply misspell the word, or at present just plain use punctuation. Now, you might be thinking "censor it strictly" as in the "fuck" in "fuck." ignoring the period. What about the "ass" in "asset"? You suddenly start removing legitimate words from our vocabulary when you try this. And you can't just remove punctuation because then people are entirely free to say "asss," "fuckass," and any other compound or modified profanity.

• Censorship gives power to the words it censors. We as a society will continue to degrade our language(s) and communication so long as we allow it to be degrading. As long as we say these words are bad they will be bad and until we stop giving them power they will have power. People say "FUCK!" because it's so POWERFUL and EXPRESSIVE. Why is it so powerful and expressive? Because when you say "FUCK!" you're doing something people don't want you to do, and at that moment what you want to do is just that. "Fuck" is not even offensive! It's just like a more powerful version of "darn!" This word is the most heavily censored word in the world, yet it's the most harmless! You cannot offend someone saying it! See how misguided censorship truly is?

And some words in a language isn't a bad word, but at another language is, so people can't say some words they must use because in other language is a bad word. Like cu, in portuguese is one thing, in other language is another. And falo too, I don't know what is this but we can't say it '-' in portuguese this is a normal word, but in another language isn't

I agree with Fxie, I personally believe the filter is going to cause problems and disrupt different lagnguages/communities. But at the same time I feel that it is nessecary due to the large amounts of profanity I've recently seen in the past few days.

Just yesterday, 4 people spammed the chat of vanilla1 about peeing all over one another and I have screenshots to show as proof.

More rant:
Out of all the things in this game, bugs, glitches, hackers, etc, you do THIS first? Why this? Couldn't you do something more important? Don't tell me blocking cuss words is important. It's not. If you can't deal with them, ignore the person or get off the internet.
Your also blocking many words that are appropriate in other languages, but not in EN (maybe FR, not sure). "Falo" appears to be bad in English, but it's not in other languages. "Hoe" is bad in English, but it's not in other languages. Several words are blocked in English but aren't considered cuss words in other languages. This filter is going to cause many problems. Filters never work when it comes to games. Either make it so we can't say simple words like "it" and "the" and "hi", or remove the thing entirely.

Definnetely not; it's exact translation is trash. It's used more as shit though and well shit isn't very bad to be called in america. I guess lixo has a stronger meaning in br though. But lixo personally doesn't carry the same level as the other words.

I don't think it's a really great idea to write down all of the swear words you know here ^^'
