However, I believe you should focus more on (and reference) some of the posts from the discussion thread. For example, what did you agree on (from the discussion) to come up with your definition of a glacier and why? Similarly, you could include why you did not agree with other people’s definitions. There are a few grammar mistakes throughout your writing, but I’ll focus on the main definition from the first sentence you wrote to keep things simple. When you are defining a word, it’s best to describe it without reusing the same word twice. In this case, you have “glacier” in the same sentence twice. If you’ve ever googled a word and in turn, received the same word only rewritten in a different form, it’s basically the same idea. You don’t really gain anything from it if you have no clue what the word means. The other thing is: don’t hold back with what you need to say. At the very beginning, you did not specify what the solid is or looked like until later and that’s why you had to refer to the late stage of how glacier (again) ice formed when you could have included that part in the beginning. For example: “A glacier is the accumulation of recrystallized snow into large flowing masses of ice.”. Remember that glaciers have their origins on land too. Last but not least, you may want to work on constructing coherent sentences with transition words to make your writing more effective. So rather than having many short sentences, work on joining related points together to avoid jumping from one completely different idea to the next.
