No, an alligator did NOT eat a kid

an alligator bit a kid, then, it realized it was a human, aka not part of it's diet

the kid died from drowning. You are 100% ok from any alligator, and we know the alligator didn't eat the kid BECAUSE THE KID JUST HAD PUNCTURE MARKS meaning it left

please, PLEASE, don't be afraid of alligators, they don't want anything to do with humans.

I know the kid didn't get eaten by the alligator, I was kidding around.

And yeah, I'm not afraid of alligators, the last time we went to Florida I was by a small creek (???) and there were several alligators in it.
