That'd mean rewriting the entire game and a large portion of the server, it'd make it impossible for a lot of people to play who aren't in certain browsers or on older computers, it'd lag an awful lot more because HTML5 wasn't designed with games in mind, it'd be a lot easier to hack, and in general I doubt this will happen.

Flash isn't deprecated at all, it still has its uses for things like flash games.

Youtube mostly supports html5 now. You don't need flash at all to watch most videos.

Adobe basically announced they plan to end support for flash and air in the future. They actually contribute to html5 a lot.

Html5 is still an early technology, it's bound to have kinks, but for the most part it performs faster than flash. Some amazing things have already been built using it.
Html5 has DRM support, though I'm not sure if that has anything to do with ensuring that it wont be hacked.
I agree that the devs will probably never look at this as a viable alternative, even though it's certainly possible to recreate tfm in html5 (box2d, the physics engine is already ported to multiple languages). I was just thinking that tfm would be really awesome and unique if it did try this.

Comme nous vous l'avons dit il ya quelques jours, Tigrounette a ajouté la fonctionnalité multi-threading au jeu. Malheureusement, celle-ci ne fonctionne pas avec l'ancienne version de la Standalone. C'est pourquoi, nous avons décidé d'en coder une toute nouvelle version.

Pour faire d'une pierre deux coups, Tigrounette a décidé de coder cette nouvelle Standalone avec Adobe Air : ceci lui permettra d'ajouter plus de fonctionnalités et Linux dispose à présent de sa propre version executable ! Pour tester les possibilités, nous avons ajouté une nouvelle fonctionnalité aujourd'hui : vous pouvez maintenant ouvrir des pop-up pour discuter avec vos amis et votre tribu !

Hace pocos días anunciamos el multithreading para Transformice. Desgraciadamente no funcionaba con el standalone oficial y tuvimos que crear uno nuevo.

Para hacerlo todo en una sola vez, Tigrounette programó eso con Adobe AIR : será entonces posible agregar mas funcionalidades en el futuro y los jugadores con Linux tendran su propia versión. Para probar esas nuevas funcionalidades, que tal si empiezan con la primera: ¡pueden abrir una ventanita en el juego para charlar con sus amigos o con la tribu!

El comando /tc abrirá una ventanita para hablar con la tribu, y el /c* funcionará con los amigos.

Как говорилось ранее, Tigrounette добавил многопоточность в Transformice. К сожалению многопоточность не работала на старом официальном клиенте и мы создали совершенно новый клиент!

Tigrounette сделал клиент на основе Adobe Air : это позволит добавлять дополнительные функции в будущем и у Linux появился свой клиент! Были добавлены новые функции: отдельное окно чата племени и отдельные окна для личных сообщений!!

Введите /tc чтобы открыть отдельное окно для трайб чата и /c* чтобы открыть отдельное окно для разговора с другом!

Jak powiedzieliśmy kilka dni temu, Tigrounette zaimplementował w Transformice opcję 'multi-threading' (wielowątkowość). Niestety nie działała ona w starym Standalone i musieliśmy wprowadzić zupełnie nową wersję.

By upiec dwie pieczenie na jednym ogniu, Tig kodował nową opcję z Adobe Air : dzieki temu łatwiej będzie mu dodawać nowe funkcje do gry oraz od tej pory Linux będzie posiadał własną wersję klienta! By przetestować nowe możliwości dodaliśmy dziś nową funkcję : teraz możecie otworzyć osobne okno do rozmowy z waszymi znajomymi i w plemieniu!!

Wystarczy wpisać /tc aby otworzyło się okno dyskusji plemienia lub /c* by rozpocząć rozmowę z jednym z waszych przyjaciół!

Ahogyan azt megmondtuk pár nappal ezelőtt, Tigrounette a Transformicehoz adta a "multi-threading"-et. Azonban ez sajnálatos módon nem működött az régi Standalone verzióval így egy teljesenen újat kellett létrehoznunk.

Hogy 2 legyet üssünk egy csapásra, Tigrounette Adobe Air-t használva kódolta : ez megengedi neki azt, hogy több funkciót adjon hozzá a jövőben és most már a Linux is rendelkezik saját Standalone verzióval! Hogy teszteljük a lehetőségeket, egy új funkciót adtunk ma a játékhoz: Most már felugró ablakokat nyithattok a törzzsel és barátaitokkal való beszélgetésre!!

Írd be a /tc parancsot hogy felugró ablakban beszélgess a törzstagjaiddal és használd a /c* parancsot a barátaiddal való beszélgetéshez.

Aşa cum ne-am spus de câteva zile în urmă, Tigrounette adaugă caracteristica multi-threading Transformice. Din păcate, aceasta nu funcţionează cu Standalone vechi şi am avut pentru a crea unul nou-nouţ.

Pentru a ucide doi pasăre cu unul piatră, Tigrounette codificate l cu Adobe Air: care îi va permite să adăugaţi mai multe caracteristici în viitor şi Linux are acum propria Standalone! Pentru a testa posibilităţile, am adăugat o caracteristică nouă astăzi: puteţi deschide acum pop-up pentru a discuta cu prietenii şi tribemates ta!

Tip /tc pentru a deschide un pop-up pentru a vorbi cu dumneavoastră tribemates şi de a folosi /c* pentru a începe o conversaţie cu unul dintre prietenul tău!

Flash and Air are not supported anymore on Linux distros, but it continues receiving security updates from Adobe. And it is becoming deprecated. HTML5 is much better and there's some ways to give support for all players (just like YouTube does): you can detect if the player can support the HTML5 with all stuff like JS, CSS3 and the Box2D and if the player's browser does not support it then the browser uses the Flash game.
And coding all the game for the HTML5 support would really worth because it plays really fast and doesn't need any plugin.

Flash for Linux is stuck at version 11 and it looks REALLY REALLY ugly with fonts and other things (use it on YouTube).
Also Adobe stopped developing Flash for Linux because they want the web developers to start using HTML5.

Even though there is the Pepper Flash not all users use it, such as me because it runs too slowly on Chromium-based browsers (e.g. Google Chrome). By the way Atelier 801 seems too simple in details compared to other rich on details HTML5 games (e.g. Zirma, Minebomber, HexGL, Banana Bread, etc.)

And the HTML5 was designed with WEB in mind, and I think it includes games. I think Tig could create a way to switch from HTML5 to Flash if it lags too much in other person's computer so Tigrounette would please all players.

In summary coding a game in HTML5 really worth because in a few years Flash won't be safe to use (in Linux at least) and most browsers now support fully or partially the HTML5 and it plays really really fast in newer computers (I played a simple game similar to Bouboum called Minebomber and the FPS reached 60 in a x86 intel Core i3).
