i woke up at 6 am to see the direct and i was not disappointed. it's sadly still the safe pokemon we had last generation and before, but they're taking larger steps in the right direction in my opinion. the grass mechanic in lets go was really useful and they kept that (yay!) but they didn't keep following pokemon sadly. still, the new "wild area" and dynamaxing looks really cool! theyre starting to go open world, which i think would be awesome. to me, pokemon is about the exploration of regions and seeing pokemon interact with you and their environment.

the "BOTW approach" really is what i want with this game. they're definitely getting there, but it seems they're trying to please everyone. if the company sees this: do what you feel would be interesting for the series, don't keep it in a cage. what odyssey and botw did to the open world/exploration concept wasn't traditional or safe, but beautiful and praised highly nonetheless.

anyway, i really liked the direct. the mechanics were cool. the designs of the new pokemon were cool, and i was really happy with everything i saw. im hoping it all feels the same way as it looks because hot damn!

Already managed to find a bulbasaur and a charmander \o/

Did you get them in the wild? I actually had no idea you can catch them in the wild until I started playing Let's Go Pikachu! after I got it back from my sister, and I completed the Elite Four on my Let's Go Eevee! file.

Yep! I found the bulbasaur right when I was about to exit the forest without chaining may or may not have screeched when I saw it appear. I had to lookup where to get charmander though and chain for a bit for it to appear haha
Now I have the squirtle from Officer Jenny \o/ Starter trio is complete!

With one, level 50 crocodile
and maybe a giant fire bird and a red Gyarados

Not bad! I found all of my starters on Let's Go Eevee! from different people like Officer Jenny with the naughty Squirtle, this girl who takes care of injured Pokemon for the Bulbasaur, and this boy who can't train Pokemon properly for the Charmander. I'm hoping to get the Shiny Charm sooner or late so I can have a higher chance of getting a shiny.

In other news, I got Meltan yesterday morning! I got curious and hooked up my Pokemon GO with Let's Go Eevee! and transferred pokemon to it, and I got the mysterious box which attracts Meltan's to you for a certain amount of time, now I have a lot of Meltan's! If anyone wants one, I can probably trade one to you once Sword and Shield come out (let's pray they have the national Pokedex unlike Let's Go!)

I'm assuming you did it with Feraligatr, Moltres, and a shiny Gyrados?
I'm seeing some weaknesses in the team, but that's pretty impressive you did that!

(weaknesses as Feraligatr is a water type, so it'd be weak to electric and grass, Moltres would be weak to electric and water, and Gyrados would have a x4 weakness to electric... it'd also potentially be weak to grass thinking about it, unless the flying typing cancels it out, I don't know.)

I'm gonna be honest, I'm not very happy about the fact that in Sword and Shield, most of the Pokemon won't even be in it. It feels like they're just... straying away from the "Gotta catch 'em all!" slogan of Pokemon, and that bugs me so much.
I'm just gonna hope they at least reuse the models used in Let's Go!, so that way we'd have all the Kanto Pokemon. That, or at least do periodic updates in Sword and Shield and slowly bring in more Pokemon.

Yeah, it's like Pokemon Gates to Infinity. They leave out most of the pokemon.
