Это им приказали так сделать. Скоро в интернете везде фильтры будут, даже в поисковике. :(

Vulli a dit :
You can turn the filter off, though.

It's still ridiculous. I see this as a marketing strategy so spoiled kiddies don't get offended and continue giving them money in exchange for mouse clothing, dying and new fur patterns/colors. It was unnecessary, and they could have spent their time developing something interesting instead of this, which I think nobody asked for.

At least I don't rememeber anyone (on the old forums) asking for a filter and getting support from others, and everyone stated that one of the reasons they liked this game was because you can say whatever you would in real life (so this excludes racism, etc) without judgment or punishment. Plus, cuss words make situations hilarious, and when someone sees the Meet The Mouse video now and go play this game, they'll find themselves disappointed in how much has changed and degenerated. It just makes me think they'll turn this into "Mouse Modelling Simulator : The Game (Family Friendly edition: now with 100% christian chat and 0% real fun!)".

I'm not saying cuss words ruin the game, but now that they're gone it certainly made the game less fun for most people. I mean, would you ever laugh at the Meet The Mouse video if everyone was censored and said shit like "oh !@#% you shaman you !@#%hole!"? It makes the game look more childish: it was never really anything mature to begin with, but the playerbase in the first year was probably not the demographic Tigrounette intended, so I don't know why he would just turn his back on those people and instead give ears to people who won't follow the game.

I regret spending money on this game now, since they have never given decent explanations to some of the most ridiculous updates. But it was fun while it lasted, it just pains me to see a game that could be improved, but instead gets worse with each update.

Also, are they seriously considering adding "penis" in the filter? That isn't a cuss word.

The filter idea has been brought up many times before.

Once a few words are removed and some are added this could be very nice, the on/off feature is great too. Thanks.

We know there are many problems with this filter and we'll continue to work on it to improve it.
Please continue to report the words that we should remove here. If you think any badwords should be added, please contact a mod in game and he'll submit it to me privately. There is no need to write badwords publicly here.

Why not just remove it completely and spend time on something that's actually usefull?

Fxie a dit :
Well, this was a horrible idea. Censorship never works, sorry. Here are a few reasons:

• What's bad in some languages is everyday talk in others. You're censoring people from saying normal things in their own language in an attempt to stop people from saying uncommon and situationally offensive things in someone else's. As Bogshot mentioned, negro is the color black in Spanish. And in Spanish it is not offensive. Nor is the word itself truly offensive in the English language (negro refers to "black people," is just as offensive as "black people," and is shorter than "black people" and its politically correct counterpart "African-American" [because every negro doesn't live in America and there's no other term for them...]). Similar, more severe situations in other languages, as mentioned by Tuliomumic: "falo" can mean "penis" or it can mean "I speak." With a game diversified across 11 communities, you aren't going to pull off censorship for every one of them without destroying communication with the others.

• It's impossible to avoid workarounds. Censorship depends on strict input and can be manipulated like taking candy from a baby. You can start replacing capital "i" with "L" and lowercase "L" with capital "i," simply misspell the word, or at present just plain use punctuation. Now, you might be thinking "censor it strictly" as in the "fuck" in "fuck." ignoring the period. What about the "ass" in "asset"? You suddenly start removing legitimate words from our vocabulary when you try this. And you can't just remove punctuation because then people are entirely free to say "asss," "fuckass," and any other compound or modified profanity.

• Censorship gives power to the words it censors. We as a society will continue to degrade our language(s) and communication so long as we allow it to be degrading. As long as we say these words are bad they will be bad and until we stop giving them power they will have power. People say "FUCK!" because it's so POWERFUL and EXPRESSIVE. Why is it so powerful and expressive? Because when you say "FUCK!" you're doing something people don't want you to do, and at that moment what you want to do is just that. "Fuck" is not even offensive! It's just like a more powerful version of "darn!" This word is the most heavily censored word in the world, yet it's the most harmless! You cannot offend someone saying it! See how misguided censorship truly is?

I couldn't agree more with what you said.

Get rid of this, pls, and do something more important. I think this is just a way to keep people playing for money. Looks like this games just like all the others.. They stop taking player's advice and do their own thing. Eventually, they will make memberships. Then the mice who don't have membership can't do the things membership mice can.

Ergh. Yeah.

Also, i think it's patethic how people think that this will ''protect'' the younger players.
Seriously? It wont.

Also, how come you're not working on things that the entire community will actually enjoy?

Such as..

I don't know? Bugs, shop item alignment.. Improved mapcrew and moderation systems.. Improvment on the tribe system..

Like. There's a huge list.
But nooooh, you choose to make a darn Language filter, which doesn't work, is completely buggy, and is HORRIBLE.
