iirc filipino is the modern-day official name used for the language, in the constitution and elsewhere, while referring to it as "tagalog" is basically only done to differentiate it from other philippine languages. they are nearly identical, if not entirely


im jealous of anyone who can speak multiple languages, especially finnic ones
know english, know some very basic german, attempting to learn dutch. my long-term goal is to know english, dutch, german, danish, and [if possible] estonian; but i doubt i'll get that far
