I didn't feel like it though (score was showing otherwise too '-' )

BUT, when we outplayed that Pudge it was a good moment.

THAT PUDGE SAT NEXT TO ME WHILE I USED MY ULTI FOR THE WHOLE TIME (CRYSTAL MAIDEN) AND THEN KILLED ME WHEN IT WAS FINISHED. WHAT A NICE GUY.

Level means absolutely nothing in matchmaking. It's no indication of skill bracket or anything. I'm level 170~ and I'm complete trash.

But I'm pretty sure they are at least familiar with hero skills, ranges and whatnot and it's a slight advantage over me '-'. I'm just thinking of basic stuff here like those. Also, they played against real people unlike me. So the constant loses are sort of demotivating v_v

Yeah but profile level can be inflated by things like battle point boosters from the in game store, so it's not an indication of skill level at all.

The thing with matchmaking is that someone completely new can queue with someone who has 2000 games played, and they have to be matched against other new(ish) people. The system requires something like 300 games played before actual skill bracket is decided. Until then, you could be matched against anyone of any skill level, as long as they're new to dota 2 (If that makes sense).

People shouldn't be worried about playing against other people and being a dead weight, chances are that your game is going to be full of other players who have no idea what they're doing. You're never going to get better if you don't try real games.

If you wanted to add me on steam I could try giving you a little guidance and play some games with you. Everytime I play with Deamaus I basically have to carry him to victory.
