It was unnecessary, and they could have spent their time developing something interesting instead of this, which I think nobody asked for.

At least I don't rememeber anyone (on the old forums) asking for a filter and getting support from others, and everyone stated that one of the reasons they liked this game was because you can say whatever you would in real life (so this excludes racism, etc) without judgment or punishment. Plus, cuss words make situations hilarious, and when someone sees the Meet The Mouse video now and go play this game, they'll find themselves disappointed in how much has changed and degenerated. It just makes me think they'll turn this into "Mouse Modelling Simulator : The Game (Family Friendly edition: now with 100% christian chat and 0% real fun!)".

I'm not saying cuss words ruin the game, but now that they're gone it certainly made the game less fun for most people. I mean, would you ever laugh at the Meet The Mouse video if everyone was censored and said shit like "oh !@#% you shaman you !@#%hole!"? It makes the game look more childish: it was never really anything mature to begin with, but the playerbase in the first year was probably not the demographic Tigrounette intended, so I don't know why he would just turn his back on those people and instead give ears to people who won't follow the game.

I regret spending money on this game now, since they have never given decent explanations to some of the most ridiculous updates. But it was fun while it lasted, it just pains me to see a game that could be improved, but instead gets worse with each update.

Also, are they seriously considering adding "penis" in the filter? That isn't a cuss word.

Well, if you turn off the filter, you have the exact same chat experience you had before it was added in.

But yeah, some users may come to the game and see things are being censored and assume there's no way to turn it off hm.
There should be a more obvious button or menu item or something ingame for toggling it on and off.

It's not like no one's allowed to say bad words anymore, there's just a new optional filter.

I think this, along with having to turn it on after you log in, rather than having to turn it off would be better. Also it'd be nice if the game remembered your last setting.

This is one of the most obvious things that could have been added. This, along with the different-meanings-in-different-languages issue, are clear examples of how this update was released far too prematurely and early.

I'm not trying to say that this update was bad but the time used to code this could have been used to add a lot of new content. If the admins were really set on adding this, they should have have waited a bit and finished it properly.

I concur.

It is understandable that many are not happy and do not like certain updates but to say that the players are not being heard is saddening. The game is player driven. The suggestions/opinions, even the negative ones, are appreciated and fully read.

People have been saying that they can't say hoe in dutch because its a bad word in english and other words too.

A nice way to fix this is making a filter for each comunity.
That way dutch people can say hoe but english people can't.
And removing words like fala or negro since they're not offensive unless you use them as an offensive term.

Also, I know that this isn't a suggestion thread, but I would like to say it here: to avoid other situations like this one, where people complain because something isn't working well, you guys should do something like the beta test with fraises. Only a small quantity of people should try the filter (and other stuff too), and report bugs before releasing it to the public.

I've realized how much this game ahs changed. And I don't like it. What happened to our little brown mice who had no custom items? What about the red lava ground and purple ice ground? How about when there was no mouse in the hole? I miss all of this.. and to people who hear about this game of youtube, come to play it, log on.. and all the sudden.. super disappointed. I mean, now a filter.

Also, I think theres a huge lack of communication between admins and players. For one reason, when you use the Transformice contact, they never answer. For another, they haven't prepared us for the past two or three things. 1. Survivor. All the sudden they change it, no warning what-so-ever. 2. The fraises event. They could have said "A mystery event is coming on ___!" or something. 3. This. They could have told us they were going to add this, but no, they just add it, which is another thing I hate. Players could have told them words not to filter and what not. And now, they have a fucked up filter they never should have added.

Very nice update for younger players. Although I often curse like a pirate in transformice, I understand it's not a very good influence to others. ^^ Good update! But I do agree with dinochi a tiny bit. You guys should have asked what words to censor first.

What I've experienced is now that there is a filter, people swear more.
I know that most of the players are usually younger than I am, but it's a tad childish to just abuse a filter with: "OH SHIT, WE CAN'T SAY SHIT. FUCK. YEAH WE CAN'T SAY DICK. FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK."
I end up muting half the room just from it.
I feel like I have to announce th filter myself because no one goes on forums...
And then I am ignored, due to spam of curse words, and the repetition of "HOW DO YOU TURN IT OFF" grinds my gears...

I know you have your own opinion and such, but you said that there is a huge lack of communication between admins and players. And that's not true. Tons of people have been asking for a filter, they added it. Also they asked for a games section on the board, custom items, etc etc, and they added it.

Also, if they say "a mystery event is coming" it wouldn't be a mystery, it would be a normal event.

Another thing, if you don't like the filter, write /filtre and it will be deactivated.
