I know that in 1.9 there's gonna be a bunch of stuff added; New arrows, dragon head, nether cities (I think they are called that), new mob, new trees. There is more stuff but I can't remember exactly what else there is.

He doesnt exist. You can add him by mods on the PC though.

Say, guys, I've been having a mob problem. I just recently built an adoption center for my cats, but hostile mobs are spawning in there.
I can't kill them, because they're all standing next to the cats. And I don't want to kill the cats! (because, with the new special sweep attack added, it kills all nearby mobs along with whatever I'm aiming at.)

How do I keep mobs from spawning in certain areas?

Place torches. Hostile mobs dont spawn in lit areas.

Also, close off your area so they cant get in when nighttime hits
