I always appreciate Skrillex for his unique pop-style dubstep, but nowadays there's such a wide variety of what you could call dubstep that restricting yourself to him just doesn't do justice.

There's slower, more ballad-like dubstep:

Above and Beyond - You Got to Go (Seven Lions Remix)

Skream - Where you should be

Flight Facilities - Crave You (Adventure Club Remix)

There's more agressive, head-banging dubstep:

PNAU - Unite Us (Xilent Remix)

Nero - Crush on you (Knife Party Remix)

Excision and Datsik - Deviance (Dirtyphonics Remix)

And there's catchy dance dubstep:

Delta Heavy - Get By

Krewella - Killin' It

Knife Party - Internet Friends

It still surprises me that it can be such a flexible genre of music.

But back to Skrillex, his upcoming EP was a bit comforting. I've been worried that he was going to stick to that signature 'wub' sound he has and remain a one trick pony so to speak. It's good to see he can break away from that a bit and not be so worried about people hating him for not producing "Scary monsters and nice sprites vol. 28"

seriously? there are tons of artists out there who make dubstep. infact, a lot of them do it better than him imo. you should say you think he is the best. because its your opinion. i really dislike skrillex so this offends me

Wow Baas they sound so great! I'm kinda disappointed Signal The Captain doesn't go on for longer. ;; Also dare I say Cloudlight has a tinge of Aphex Twin to the percussion? =p

I don't think Skrillex is actually dubstep...
His beats are too fast to be dubstep, I think it has to be around 127 bpm, or something. I could be wrong, but. (feel free to correct me)
Anyways, I love Skrillex, dubstep or not. "First of the Year" never gets old. ^^
