Have you ever wanted to write but never had the kick in the pants to do it? There's no better time than November and no better event to do it in than NaNoWriMo.

I've personally been participating in NaNo since I was twelve years old. This will be my seventh year.

It's a thirty day "competition" (but really you're not competing against anyone else, only yourself) in which you write a 50,000 (or if you'll be participating in YWP, you can pick your own goal -- we'll discuss YWP in a bit) novel. You can really do whatever you wish genre wise, from non-fiction to a gigantic fantasy thriller.

I've never really wrote a story before but this looks interesting... Thanks for sharing, especially early enough to prepare for it.

Also, any idea which one I should sign up for? The "kid" version or the adult one? (I'm 14)

If you don't wish to do the full 50,000 words, sign up for YWP since it allows you to pick a goal. Otherwise, go for the main site; which ironically I never linked. I'll do so now.

I guess I'll join the YWP just to see if I could make it to 10k ^-^

edit: I'm unfortunately too busy this month to participate as all my teachers just bombarded us with every single project they've got ready in their arsenal.

Site relaunches today (actually, I believe it has -- it's under maitenance right now). A lot of people manage to plot their entire novel from October 1 on so good luck!

Yeah, they're under maitenance right now (October 1 is relaunch day and they're working on clearing the forums and such); which is a giant pain for me because I have a bug I gotta report. ;A; I'll keep you up to date when the site's up.
