I started drawing because I had ideas but people wouldn't understand when I shared my ideas. Realising that drawing helps, I started drawing.

In general, I started doodling as a kid. Really young. I didn't know what I was doing back then. I was just drawing random crap. xD

Well, skip to me around 17 years old, at first I was just drawing fanart. All of the reason I want to draw is fanart. What motivated me to draw is to try to copy as close as possible to shows like Regular Show. That is why my 1st drawings are all fanart. But when that feeling of trying to immitate the cartoons I like vanished. And the feeling of not improving is making me unmotivated.

So, I didn't draw something for one year (except random doodles ofc). Then I saw Lackadaisy. That renewed my motivation to draw again. And this time learn and improve. Also to develop my own art style and just draw cartoons. So far, 2 artists (Tracy Butler and Skottie Young) are the people that motivates me to draw.

As for my goal, it is to create expressive cartoon styled characters and someday maybe do something with it. Like a simple webcomic or something. xD
I just wanna be a hobbyist cartoonist.

i can't really remember why i first started drawing - i was only like, 5 years old when i started. i did piles and piles of drawings, but it was only 4 years ago where i would start doing fanart and basing my style off of other artists. i drew a lot of hetalia fanart and based my style greatly off of anime, but then i decided it was time for a change and experimented with cartoon styles that i really liked off of tumblr.

that's when i discovered alex ahad and his art - i got rid of my anime style and subbed it for his, but it took me a long time to branch my own style off of his. i'm mainly focused on improving on digital art (i think my traditional art is fine the way it is) and i would love to become a cartoonist in the future, or do a webcomic or something. i haven't quite figured it out yet.

I don't remember but I'll just do what I remember. I think I first started drawing when I was around 5, I usually drew female stick figures. At that time a lot of people said I was a great artist, so I thought maybe I should keep doing this in the future. I usually went on a computer when I was around 8, and I discovered Deviantart sooner or later in 2006. And throughout the years I loved looking at deviantart because I got to understand how people work with there art styles. Around 10, I kind of gathered an anime style but I hid that style from everyone else; thought it was weird imo, and I didn't like it that much but it was the only style I was 'good' at. I had to stick with doing traditional art, except I'm pretty bad at it, but at 15, I finally started digitally painting/drawing. At 16, I also achieved a drawing tablet, so I'm doing that as a passion of mine. I love art so much but I haven't really caught a type of drawing style for me yet, but hey; we'll wait and see.

Same reason as probs all the artists from Finland have, i saw gng (when i was about 8 i think) and started drawing mostly canines, then i joined dA at the age of 13. Later on i also discovered Tumblr and other animes too, and that's how i also started drawing also/mostly humans. But again, 90% of the human drawings i make are fanart.

Basically this. I also thought it was fun and relaxing since I can be in my own world.
Also wanted to say it helps me calm down sometimes, like I had an anxiety attack a few hours ago and just started drawing because nothing else stopped it - and I guess because I had an inner urge to draw again (even though I should be doing other things).

i seriously started getting into drawing when i suddenly had this brilliant idea that i should draw my tfm mouse and see how it looks like. the first couple of digital drawings that i made looked like a hunk of crap but it was fun and i decided that this is what i wanted to get good at.

it's now been 2 years since i've seriously drew anything for myself and i'm yet trying to regain my lost passion for this hobby. the most i can muster is making doodles at school, but yeah it sucks to be burnt out.

I just draw to provide content for my favorite fictional ships, especially since one of them is from a not very well known game series lol
I do love drawing whatever I want to, that freedom is amazing and it calms me down sometimes whenever I'm not freaking out over how it looks. That's another reason, I suppose. :P
