Gigi Gorgeous, a transgender model and Kylie Jenner's BFF, is being detained at the Dubai airport because she used to be a man. Gigi, who became famous for documenting her transition on social media, tells TMZ she was stopped at Immigration. She says the immigration officer said, "I was told you are transgender. You cannot come into the country." Gigi was born Gregory Lazzarato, but says her passport has been updated since she transitioned ... it now reads "Gigi Loren." Airport police have a different story. They say the passport describes her as male and the passport photo shows Gigi as a male. Gigi tells us that's simply not true. We did some checking ... in Dubai the "imitation of women by men" is illegal, and violators face up to a year in jail. She says they still have her passport, and she's trying to get out of the country. - This happend a day ago. Gigi is free now. Gigi Gorgeous shared on Instagram: "After being detained and held at the Dubai airport for over 5 hours, this was the moment my baby came to rescue me. Yesterday was one of the scariest moments of my entire life and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. How you can be denied entry somewhere just because of who you are is seriously disgusting and also very scary. This further proves the need for CHANGE. I am now on my way to somewhere much more accepting. Safe and sound and happy. I love you guys" and "Just uploaded a video explaining what happened at the airport in Dubai when I was denied entry and detained. So disappointing that such a beautiful city has such a backwards way of thinking. I will sadly never be going back there again after how I was treated" ____ I'm from UAE. Transgender people DO get in the country but for......... "reasons." I mean, I love Gigi but she should've done her research. It's a whole nother county, it's a whole nother city, it's a whole nother culture. I'm sure she assumed Dubai is friendly towards anyone with money because of how very expensive the city is. I'm sad that she probably hates Dubai now. :( |

Unlike what a lot of people think, this isn't discrimination, they could have jailed or executed her if they let her in, this is literally like a black person in slavery time deciding "you know what, I'd really love to go to America, beautiful country" instead they just decided to send her back. Dubai and the rest of the world need to change their laws to fit civil rights, however, until then, people shouldn't be ignorant of the country they go to, I know that 5% of countries want me executed, and 20% of countries want me in jail. I'm not ignorant of those countries, so I don't go to them. Even if she got through, and airport security didn't think she was transgender, guess what, she's famous, people will find out, and when they do, she could get seriously hurt by people in Dubai who take Sharia law seriously. It sucks, but sometimes you really do just got to be informed of the country you're going to. |

From what I understand, the aiport was basically being nice to her. Gigi is so dramatic. They opened a restaurant just for her while she's waiting for her passport and she spent the night at the hotel that is attached to the airport. She was NOT DETAINED, she was DENIED ENTRY. There is a difference. When you're being detained, they take you to a jail cell, not a restaurant or a hotel. When you are denied entry, they try to find out why (it's their job) and then they give you your passport and you leave as soon as possible. Of course, someone obviously wanted to get her in trouble but they didn't know how and they couldn't since her profile is so high and her family is so rich. Why did they deny her entry? Again, they were being nice to her. If she stepped one foot onto Dubai, and someone found out that she was born a man and they reported her, she will be jailed for a year or even executed publicly for violating the country's rules. If the airport wanted Gigi to get hurt, they would've let her in Dubai and they wouldn't have denied her entry. Haruhitastic a dit : No. The country is not in the 17th century just because it doesn't work your way. It follows a certain religion, this certain religion has rules, so of course the country will have the same rules as the religion. ____ A whole nation is not going to change their rules just because you don't agree with them. It can happen, but it will take years. And even if it happens, the rules will not be changed completely, the rules will just be "lighted" and "less strict." It's sad, I know, but that's just the reality of half of the world. You know who I feel more sad for? Not Gigi. I feel sad for the LGBT+ people inside these countries who follow certain religions. They must have it harder than Gigi. |

Oh, and she shouldn't act like the airport treated her like shit. She spent the night at a hotel that is attached to the airport. We're not talking cheap airports and hotels. It's fricking Dubai. Everything here is expensive. I'm sure they treated Gigi more than just a Princess. Imma sleep now. |
