What's 'Net Neutrality' and why do we need to keep it?

Cable companies are famous for high prices and poor service. Several rank as the most hated companies in America. Now, they're lobbying the FCC and Congress to end net neutrality. Why? It's simple: if they win the power to slow sites down, they can bully any site into paying millions to escape the "slow lane." This would amount to a tax on every sector of the American economy. Every site would cost more, since they'd all have to pay big cable. Worse, it would extinguish the startups and independent voices who can't afford to pay. If we lose net neutrality, the Internet will never be the same.

Some pretty 'big' videos on Net Neutrality

Net Neutrality: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO)

Vimeo - Why we need net neutrality

Bernie Sanders - Save Net Neutrality

College Humor: Why Net Neutrality Matters (And What You Can Do To Help)

Oh boy it even reached out to here after first saw it on DramaAlert video...

I mean, letting us know that this is trending now is fine, but really ripping off information off of the site without probably having a idea on what you have copypastaing kind of doesn't seem smart...

I thought about making a thread about this on Net Neutrality day but knowing the people on the forums they'd get too political. Hopefully all the letters/protest from big companies and citizens can stop this

by the way, please keep in mind that once net neutrality is passed, people who go on websites without the secure lock (such as the forums) and put in information, your network provider *could* potentially sell that info (this is probably slightly inaccurate, please correct me if it is)

I'm not even too sure of this myself, either. I think log-in info may be part of it

Yes you can. There is a website where you can type a letter to protest.
I'm not American either but I still sent a letter/email
The website has a letter typed out but it is best if you delete it and type your own.
