Hey thanks for not dropping this and putting up with this, the last step would be to allow tcpdump program to watch over the network with this command:
Code said:
sudo setcap 'CAP_NET_RAW+eip CAP_NET_ADMIN+eip' /usr/bin/tcpdump

or
Code said:
sudo setcap 'CAP_NET_RAW+eip CAP_NET_ADMIN+eip' /usr/sbin/tcpdump

Oh, god. This is the sole reason I'm going to log in right now.

EDIT: It's working perfectly! Thank you. This is revolutionary.

Hey, great to hear that! Did it work after following steps from github or you had to fiddle with it? I use a bit of recent Python language features and people with older Linux distros can have problems installing this (as can be seen above).

I did not have to fiddle with it at all. I only had used it with sudo before and it didn't work, but running the command from README.rst made it work without sudo. And yeah, since I'm using Debian Buster, my OS is pretty recent, so I didn't stumble across any errors in Python.

I can try running this on Linux Mint 19.1 to see if it works! I'm on it right now.
