Yeah I object because you're the owner of the thread, you agree that conz' post was good and wise, yet you continue to clown around with the "dibs" nonsense

This rule refers to the maximum number of songs that can be placed on dibs. Conz did not mention anything about the maximum number. What's being mentioned in this post is an entirely separate matter, and should this whole thing become completely useless, I've already stated in the opening that the sentinels can close the thread, yet they haven't. This thread still stands as a speculation.
Yes, the trello hints at it being organised by playlist and not by video, but who's to say that won't change? What if, say, you deleted the song off your playlist? Would others be able to access the edited track after you, or perhaps it would automatically save the track back into your playlist the next time you added the song, or perhaps you'd have to start over? Nobody knows.

The whole point of having dibs is to prevent duplicates. If we had a duplicate, and it turned out that people liked one person's work over the other, then I don't want the other person to get upset because they wasted their time for nothing.

Before you say anything else, I will just say one word. speculation. If you have nothing else of value to contribute to this thread, I will just ignore your posts.

Also the reason why I said the thread could be handled better is because 'dibs' is a pre-school like word, doesn't sound very mature. Reserve sounds better.

Thank you for explaining. I agree that it doesn't sound very mature, so I will add the word reserved on, but people can use the word dibs if they want to.

Think about it: Editing a track could take several minutes, and making an extremely high quality track could take over an hour. What if someone came up with a better track on the same song as you, and posted it after you, and then suddenly everyone migrated to the other track? How would you feel, having spent all that time on your track, to have it completely disregarded in the end?

I hope you understand, having heard my reasoning through empathy.

But it will probably be tied to the playlist anyway, so others can't choose the song anyway.
Take a look at Mapcrew on TFM for instance, they choose the better maps, even if 5 maps have the same gameplay.

Pointless: No personal gain whatsoever.
Doesn't need to be done: Can be done, if the person sees potential gain. Since I see potential gain in organising everything beforehand, that's why this thread is up.

I'm not trying to be rude. "Why are you here?" if you don't support this thread? You can easily just make your own track when the partition editor is actually released.

Another Idea I have if this does come out is similar to how P0 maps are rated in TFM.

I think it people will be able to make custom tracks (40 sushi?), and then at the end of the track people can vote similar to TFM "do you like this track? YES/NO" if it has too much NOs, the track gets deleted and reverts back to what the original was. (To cut down on flood arrows and silly tracks).

There might be a Trackcrew with this, although I hope not.

I really appreciate the criticism you're giving me, because it makes me rethink this whole thing. But, this thread stands as a speculation. The final outcome rests on what atelier801 gives us when the partition editor is released.
Also, this thread has a section called "completed songs". That is when people will care about what's already been done.

You can do it as hard as you can, but you have to get skills to make a 100%. If you don't get 100%, then it is most likely that even best pros cannot get it. Also, make sure not to put out of sync notes

Skull that's a nice idea actually, but to submit a song, you need to 95%+ or something so no noobs would randomly make their songs really hard.
That way you need experience in the game to make songs. Does that sound nice?

Partition editor was moved to "In progress" on the trello, meaning hopefully we'll get it soon!

As for having to get 95% on anything you make, I think it's a pretty good idea. At some point with harder songs that percentage just equates to "clear it without mashing" due to the strict lifebar during Extreme. My only problem with this is that a lot of good charters may not even be that great at the game, or people who are really good at the game might not be good charters. Charting is, within reason, a separate skillset than actually being able to play.

Not sure but could you have your friend validate it for you just so it wont be impossible in case you are bad at the game, but if you make it yourself, you would be the most experienced about it and would know any note better than the other person. If they put spammy moves that no one on can do, then it doesn't deserve to be uploaded. That's my last idea on that input.
