Welcome to Nekodancer! If you're here, you're probably new to the game and you want to know how to play it, right? KNOWING THE BASICS  This is you! Your name is highlighted in a neon blue so you can locate yourself easily.  Other players have grey names, like this one! Now, lets get down to how you actually play.  This is your playing field. You see those arrows? You need to use either your arrow keys or the WASD keys to make them disappear. If you want to earn points, you also need to make sure that the arrow is inside the given box. Once its inside, use the correct key to gain some points. There are 5 words that may pop up when you press a key. In order of best to worst: Perfect Nice Okay Oops Miss If those words pop up, it pretty much tells you how well you got that arrow. It is not by chance that you get perfect, nor miss. If you miss a note, that's it, the word pops up. Or as I like to put it, "learning from your mistakes."  See the star in the corner with the number 0 in it? That's your combo streak count. Right now, in the picture it's at zero because I didn't actually press any keys. However, it will rise as long as you keep on pressing the right keys at the right time. If you muck up, it will reset back to zero. But don't worry! That's not bad. It was a mistake and you can carry on right after!  This is your health bar. At the start of each game, the bar will be full. If you keep missing arrows or hitting the wrong ones, your health will slowly go down. It can be regained if you press the right arrows, though! "POWER-UPS" Don't get confused by these! Some arrows have small circles with different lines or colours inside of them. This is a knock-on effect which will effect a random player, causing them to have some difficulty getting points. If you're unlucky enough, you'll be effected by one as well. This causes a lot of frustration in players, and it can make them slightly angry. But if this happens, don't lose your cool! Just try to get through it as best as you can. The time set for the knock-on effects vary between 3 seconds to 10 seconds. Known Effects: Short - You can only see 1/8 of your arrow screen. Advantages: Can increase focus. More chance of getting perfect.Disadvantages: Can make you lose points if you miss the arrows. Wave - Makes your arrows swerve from left to right. Advantages: Not that hard to follow. Disadvantages: Lowers your focus. Can make you press wrong keys. Rotation - Makes your arrows spin around. Advantages: Pfft you don't get advantages on this one. Disadvantages: Lose focus. Lose points. Lose pretty much everything okay that knock-off sucks you need to be some sort of god to get through it without losing one point. Speed - Arrows quicken whilst coming down. Advantages: Gain focus. More chance of getting perfect. Disadvantages: Miss a lot of arrows. Blink - Arrows flash slowly. Advantages: More focus. Disadvantages: Can cause confusion. FEATURES When you click menu, next to the help box and wrench, you will be shown a variety of options.  In order, I will explain what goes on here. Friends and Tribe is something you should already know about, if you're originally from Transformice. You should also know about the shop, but I'll explain that anyway.  This is the shop layout. It's the same for everyone. You have several options to choose from down the side, which lets you see what items are available in the shop for your character. Up at the top is your sushi count. Gain sushi by completing rounds in a game.  This is the playlist layout. You may copy links from Youtube and paste the link inside the small box above "close." After your clip processes, you may then click "next music" to ensure that the clip will be played when your turn comes. The amount of clips you can put in your playlist are 10, so you don't have to worry about running out of songs. If you've been playing a while and your chosen clip doesn't come on, then you've probably not selected it to play. REMEMBER, it will not play instantly. You must go up the scoreboard to gain your turn. Once you're at the top, your song will play on the next round. You CAN be overtaken by more skilled players, though. But never give up! The time limit to a clip is 3:05. You have 15 seconds to get into a place where you are most comfortable, or to finish chatting to a friend. The training room is a public room to anyone who has you on their friend list or just happens to know you by chance, and it is a place where you, as the name says, can train with certain songs and see how well you are. You may want to try out new songs which you think you'll be good at, and keep practicing until you get the highest combo! And because it's your own room, I doubt no one's going to follow you into it unless you ask them to. The other games button will take you to a small screen where you can choose to check out another game made and published by Atelier801. NOTICE: If you are in a room all by yourself playing, you will NOT gain sushi if you complete the round. You need 2 or more people in one room at a time if you want to earn sushi. If you have an alt account in the room, you will also not gain sushi, because your account IP's match, and it won't count! TIPS If you want to do well at a certain song, go to a training room or your tribe house to practice it. Make sure there are no distractions around you. If the video of a clip is distracting you, focus on the arrows instead. Do not give up after the first round if you don't come first. Everyone has their own skill level and there is of course more room for improvement! Also, more skilled players probably would of been playing longer than you, even if its only a day. Remember not to get frustrated if you miss an arrow. This will only make you lose more points and it will lower your chance of getting an arrow inside its box. If your health is low, make sure to carefully regain your health by concentrating on the arrows. Pay attention only on your screen, and nothing else. Don't worry if you cant get a high combo. Keep practicing and make sure you have enough confidence to pull off some moves that some players might not want to do in case of losing their streak. Huzzah I finally edited it. Have some helpful advice from commenters. Jammerys: You get a set amount of points per arrow depending on if you "Perfect" it. / There's also a Heart Arrow 'Power up' that replenishes your life bar at the bottom to full, has saved me numerous amounts of times during difficult songs. Perfect gives 7 points with a 0 combo which results in 14 points due to the x2. The higher your combo the more points you earn. Livcorish: Another tip is to pretended that your fingers are feet, and to get in the zone and put your head down.
