If the track editor is actually will come out, My thoughts will be.,..
You can make any type of music Example:Dubstep pop.etc
And if you want it hard just select the mode or something and you can put any arrows any way
you liked it to be the way u wanted to be.
And you can add 4 limit free style usage

My track editor topic is outdated. Any information in there is probably false or misleading so you should not link to it.

Looks like doomsday is upon nekodancer unless they add a track editor or find some way around this issue.

Also if It had to be made, track editor would make segregations of rooms by difficulty necessary. For example: /room #Easy1, #Medium1, #Hard1, #Extreme1
Not all cats want to play hard songs

Im very sad about it. I know alot of famous players and they love neko.

They must be pretty angry of so much work.

Speaking as an internationally recognized pro, I'm not really angry about it..
But it's going to impact a lot of the things that I think about the game and about playing tfm. My YouTube channel will be affected (Nekodancer is a large component of my YouTube videos), and I'll generally just have less fun because there's not as much variety in atelier801 anymore.

I still say withhold the outcry and the sadness until there is actual confirmation that nekodancer is dead.

I have mixed feelings..

well, when I first started nekodancer I really enjoyed then after a while it got very boring because it never updated and it was just the same old thing and nothing new to look forward to.. I tried to quit but for some reason I keep coming back to it...

I think they should just add the track editor or maybe something else and maybe it could be saved...

Nekodancer is not for sure going to be shut down, but youtube is still going to be dropping flash. Therefore the admins are trying to get Vimeo as an alternative. Vimeo is okay, but there are limited song choices in their library.

Can we compare YouTube and Vimeo for a second.

Uploading video sizes: Approximately 0 - 200mb (depending on quality, length and encoding codec)
YouTube: Allows an unlimited number of videos per time period
Vimeo: Allows 500mb of videos per week, and 25gb per year (50 weeks)

Universal restrictions:
- Age restrictions (18+ videos cannot be played)
- Country blockages (Similar YT/Vimeo videos will be still blocked in countries)

Nekodancer restrictions:
- Video must be shorter than 10 minutes in length (Most likely universal)
- Video must have at least 1000 views (YouTube only??)

YouTube restrictions:
- Video cannot have been edited in some way (notable example: cropped)

Vimeo restrictions:
- ???

The question is: Will there be any restrictions to Vimeo (example the 1000 views limit) that would severely restrict our choice of songs, or would we be able to upload our own videos so we had a N.D specific user on Vimeo for commonly played songs?
For example, a mainstream song might have a long intro with no music and an alternative video has the fillers cut out so only music plays. Should the video choice be restricted by number of plays it would create a very big problem in choice and ability to actually play music. If a track editor allowed us to start a video at a particular point that would be a much different story.

Another consequence: It will probably draw even more players away from the game, unless there is a major update that encourages people to play more.

So what your saying is there is a limited amount of space for mp3s. But on the other hand Vimeo is its own company/website so there would not be limited space. Its like having youtube but with limited music.

@Kaitlyen that is a separate issue. They are talking about storing mp3s in the game.
As for storing mp3s for use on nekodancer there was baffbot, but that was removed because of copyright issues ever since atelier801 became a company.

Kick drums 280bpm does not exist on Vimeo. It will be completely gone once the YouTube thing kicks in

Should we dedicate a user to creating videos for play on nekodancer we don't want to pay for it (basically paying another company to play an atelier801 game). The free user option has 500mb of videos per week and 25gb per year. Vimeo is restricted on upload size but YouTube is not.

If we created another kick drums there should hopefully not be a views restriction otherwise we would have to gather the nekodancer community together on this neko-specific user every time to get the video to work (and also get it to work with other videos too).

As for watching for leisure, well.. you're going to have a lot of trouble with that. This will pretty much make it harder and much more tedious and troublesome for everyone.

In conclusion:
MP3s only: Not possible bc/ copyright.
Vimeo: Extremely tedious and song choice is limited and could be even more restricted by a minimum views limit.
Recoding in html5: Extremely tedious for the admins and unlikely because nekodancer doesn't earn revenue.

Shutdown: Likely.

I love Nekodancer and it would be a pain for it to shut down...
Google, please.
Stop making horrible decisions.

Someone needs to make a petition to get Google to stop this.
