For me I just ship some people who I think fit together, and sometimes it turns out to be both guys or girls.

A lot of the reason people don't like yaoi/yuri is because they don't like girls liking girls and guys liking guys. AKA they are homophobic. SInce I am bi and have always grown up with stuff like that around me, (my aunt is lesbian), it has never struck me as something odd. People always say straight is the norm, but for me, that's not true. There is no real "norm" for me. I am used to the fact that people are: gay, bi, lesbian, pan, hetero, etc. There isn't anything special about it. Reading yaoi or yuri for me, is the same as reading a romance manga that has a girl and a guy liking each other.

I'm not sure why people make yaoi/yuri a big deal like it's literally the same as any other ship
