"Four hundred forty-seven years ago..." Mr. Higley starts. "WHY SO LONG AGO??!" Simon said standing up. Mr. Higley frowned, "Simon sit down...". The entire class, including me, laughed. "Angle do you have something to add?" Mr. Higley says all smug like. "You always pick on me!!" I say dramatically. Simon laughs at me and I wack him with my script. "Ugh, you guys!! Can't you do anything with out fighting? We're never going to get this play finished!!" Mr. Curtis said as he waves for us to continue the play. The intercom comes on. "Sorry for the interruption, but we have great news. In three weeks time, Obama will not be president!" "Okay.. then... now back to where I left off, LISTEN UP CHILDREN! Four hundred forty-seven years ago, April 1564, Shakespeare was born!!" Mr. Higley says clapping. Everyone, in the play, sighs. This is my cue, "Why are we learning about Shakespeare in History class. What did he do that is soooo important?" I say. Mr. Higley laughs, "He was the best Playwright of the century!". I sighed and leaned back in my chair. "Isn't that just a wee-bit over exaggerated?" Mr. Higley sighs, again, " William Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright, and actor, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. He is often called England's national poet, so no I am not over exaggerating."
