Christmas is here, mice! A time for celebration, awkward family reunions with your niece and uncle mice, and most importantly, presents! *-* (I hope Santa brings me cheese!)

The Christmas event for Transformice, this year, is complicated, compared to past events, and has several things connected to it that ultimately come together as two parts: the Advent Calendar and the Presents. This thread will serve as a localization for discussion as well as explaining how the event works to hopefully make it easier for everyone to get the most out of their holiday playing!

So how does this event work?

The Advent Calendar


The main map of this event is the Advent Calendar map, which will occasionally play, timed to be roughly hourly. But wait, what's an Advent Calendar? An Advent Calendar, in real life, is a calendar set up specifically for the days between December 1st and December 25th, or sometimes known as the 25 Days of Christmas. Each day, there is a prize inside the calendar to be received on that specific day - thus, a prize every day, once a day.

Similarly, in Transformice, the Advent Calendar map is a drawn map with objects noted with numbers between 1 and 25, corresponding to the dates. On the specified date, based on the timezone of GMT+1 France, a prize can be received once for clicking that object. So there's 25 free prizes to get! Sometimes it's cheese, sometimes it's fraises, sometimes it's items!

The catch, however, is that you can not obtain prizes for days you've missed. You have to encounter the map on that specific day to obtain the prize for it. Fortunately, nothing will be missed forever, so don't worry if you can't play every day! Items missed you can still obtain from the gifting system, explained later ~ but not cheese or fraises! The following list shall be updated daily to list the prizes received from the calendar so far:

Day 3: Bar of Chocolate (mouth item)

Day 4: 20 Cheese
Day 5: Jingle Bell (neck item)

Day 6: 5 Fraises
Day 7: 20 Cheese
Day 8: Icicle earring (ear item)

Day 9: 5 Fraises
Day 10: 20 Cheese

The Presents System
The calendar isn't all, though! What would Christmas be without tons and tons of presents? Similar to the 2012 Easter event, presents are laid out all around Vanilla maps and some Permanent rotation maps to be collected by mice! To collect a present, you must touch the present on the map then finish the level normally by entering the hole with your cheese. The present won't count if you die or don't finish, so be careful!


So what happens with the presents?




The numbers here show you what's going on with your presents. Don't be scared, it's very simple! The first, blue number is how many presents you have currently collected. / The next two, red numbers are how many presents you have received from other mice or opened yourself out of how many you can receive/open maximum. / The last, green one is how many presents you have given away to other mice.

To put it simply, receiving or opening presents will get you items every 20 presents. You may only receive presents while on the Advent Calendar map, and to open your own presents, you can click yourself on the Advent Calendar map, then select to Unwrap your presents. Note that this will decrease your first, green number to 0, and will not raise your presents given away! If you are currently at the maximum, this number will not increase, either! The maximum of this number will raise by 20 every day by GMT+1 France timezone, unlocking another tier of items from receiving presents!

Giving away gifts, however, will get you titles! You may only give away presents while on the Advent Calendar map, and you must be nearby the mouse you wish to give your presents away to! Note that if you die from not moving until 1:30, you can still give your presents away to any mice that's near where you spawned/died at. To give away presents, just click on the mouse and select to give them your presents. This will also reduce your first, green number to 0, and will not raise your presents received alone! This number has no maximum, and a list of titles that can be obtained follows:

SNOW!!!!


Occasionally, it will snow in the room you are playing in! While it is snowing, you can throw a snowball by either pressing (and holding) E or Down (you can not duck while it is snowing). Throwing a snowball can cause a burst, sort of like a small Spirit, and can be used to push mice around, or even up. Sometimes a clever mouse can use snowballs to get up to a platform they normally couldn't!

Be warned, though, that snow can be VERY glitchy around Shamans, and has a tendency to mess with builds. In fact, it's safe to say that during a round with snow, there won't be any saves for that Shaman. If you are Shaman while it is snowing, it's usually best to wait out the snow if you can before building anything.

I locked your "reserved" thread since I don't see a point in posting saying that you're going to post later.

This thread hasn't been locked yet since there's no really any other Christmas discussion thread in here now which is a bit awkward. Not sure what's going to/should happen at this point.
