• IRC (Internet Relay Chat) is a way of instant messaging and is used on large communities. You can create an account or just try it to chat with different players from Transformice about lots of topics (tribes/minigames...), and most mods hang out there, so you are free to ask any question!
HINT: There's even a BOT that will give you special abilities regarding player stats! Don't miss it!

• It's also an easy way of contacting moderators regarding problems in game (eg, voteban abuse). The mods are always happy to help: respect them and wait patiently for the answer.
The mods, Sentinels and some other Users have special symbols before their usernames which helps you identify staff/helpers.

Channel Names:

#Transformice (the official room)
#mapcrew (the Map Crew's chat room!)
#TransformiceFR (for french players!)(pour les utilisateurs Français!)
#tfmsents (Transformice Forum Sentinels, This is the channel you need to use to report the threads, as explained above).

Tutorial: How to Use the IRC!

• SOLUTION 1 : qwebirc

- Just enter your username and sign in.
- For those who have registered an account, you can login by selecting "Auth : Identify to Nickserv", then by entering your password in the password field.
- Qwebirc : http://www.transformice.com/irc-webchat


• SOLUTION 2: xChat (More Complex)

- For those who wish to use the more complex IRC Webchat EXE, try installing xChat2, a free software here: http://xchat.org/download/


The Tutorial: Using The IRC

So I added the steps below in English! ^^

• Step 1 :
After installing XChat, you will find that Rizon isn't in the server list. You will need to install it manually! Click on the ADD Button.

• Step 2 :
A new window will appear and we will have to set the parameters to the server connection.
Start by setting the server link: irc.rizon.net/6667

• Step 3 :
Configure your parameters, untick "Use Global Information" or anything similar, and add your username In-Game.

→ Close the window and connect! ^^ For now, connecting to the Transformice server is useless if you wish to register.
(If you wish to continue without registering and using your temporary username, switch to Step 4.)

- Username Registration:
In the window that appeared when you logged in, type the following: /msg nickserv register password valid@email.address

You will receive a confirmation email with a confirmation code and your password.
NOTE: Some mailing services block the emails from Rizon so it's recommended that you use gmail to avoid such problems.

Next, add your password in the field "Password for "NickServ" so that the chat engine connects you automatically to the server.

• Step 4 : Now back to the beginning: try typing /join #Transformice
You will be redirected to the Transformice chat room; there you can chat and have fun!

• Commands: (IRC, not the bot)

→ /nick Username : allows you to change your username
→ /msg NickServ IDENTIFY password : lets you login/identify your account

→.p username allows you to see the stats of any user
→.t tribename (Allows you to see the info card of any tribe! Incl: ranks, founders, rooms...)

no, just about all irc channels end up becoming massive circlejerks. i know this from past experience, i don't need to visit to tell. im not calling it useless either, where did you get that?

i'm also fairly certain there have been quite a few en mods that became mods just because they idled in the irc all the time, that just proves my point

I can't say anything. I respect yout opinion. However, The IRC has changed a lot. No idle users anymore and now interesting and fruitiful conversations are held there. I just created this thread because I recovered and translated it from the old Forums. It's Not an Add for the IRC! Even if it's still important for Lots of users. A quick Guide doesn't do anything bad!

Yeah It is! If you Use XChat, You can Follow the steps I added in the tutorial so that it automatically logs you in. Hope it Helps.
