What is MapPad?

MapPad is a powerful external map editing software that is supposed to facilitate the process of creating and working on maps. It offers a couple of features which the in-game editor hasn't got, such as working with tabs, selecting multiple items at once, relative editing and saving maps with additional information to your computer.

MapPad was originally written and published by Stalky, his website can be found here. It also includes a link to a documentation for MapPad in which any features are explained, it is slightly outdated, though

MapPad now has its own site on tumblr, you can find it here.

Downloads

Click this link to download the most recent version of MapPad, 0.68. This version of MapPad is not up-to-date with the game. In order to launch MapPad, simply open the .exe file provided in the .zip archive.

System requirements:

Windows XP or higher
.NET Framework 3.5 or higher

Known bugs

Circle grounds may cause lag
Activating the "Show ground borders" option will draw a rectangle around circle grounds
Using the arrow keys to move a scrolling map isn't always working correctly
Importing maps from cheese.formice does not work

Edit : Why not sticky?

MapPad isn't an official part of the game and also way too unimportant for a sticky. The thread on the old forum hasn't been sticky, either.

It might happen that your antivirus software falsely detects MapPad as virus, I can't tell what causes it, but I can insure that it does not contain any malware, virus software etc, so you don't have to worry. I'll talk to a friend of mine who does programming, too, perhaps I'll get some help on this.

Ok, then i will download it, but since the computer found it as a threat I had to be sure first

Det, can you add the option to put "ffffffff" or "aaaaaaaa" color on grounds? sometime we need it.

You mean allowing alpha values (format #aarrggbb)? I don't see how this would be more useful than normal HTML/RGB colour codes used in-game. Can you give me an example where you would need it?

Turn Grounds into Invisible Ones. Using the Invalid Color Hex.

Dear Detle,

I have a Solution to the False Warning threat Alert for MapPad.
Just Use Winzip or RAR Archiver. The Antivirus naturally won't Scan the roots of the .exe

Executable compression can be used to prevent direct disassembly, mask string literals and modify signatures.

This Might be a Good Solution! ^^
