epic banner by Kurtwild ty *-* Hi fellow shamans. As you may or may not know I'm now in charge of the /room shaman maps, after Stron retired/disappeared/died after 4 or so months of doing a wonderful job. I'll try to keep up with the quality that we've had so far, and I will greatly appreciate the opinions of anyone who's willing to give it. Let's look at some quick facts to make this thread go as smoothly as possible. How can I submit a map? In order to check a map I only need the code of the map, eg @123456. That is enough and I don't need anything else. However you are free to add pictures, XML or whatever you want (actually, pictures are great). If you are posting a picture please use the [Thumbnail] tags. What kind of maps are you looking for? Maps that require the shaman and are fun! This usually means your map must offer something new, like a challenge or a solution that isn't possible on most maps, or just be very pretty. Please have some experience playing in the shaman room before you make maps for it! Some guidelines: If you wish to include a no anchor zone in your map, it must be made out of cloud ground. This way it'll be possible to see what is below it, and our eyes will also be grateful. When doing a cage map, please make sure that the shaman spawns on top of cheese and/or all the sides of the cage are triple layered and/or thick enough. This is to avoid escaping and making the game more fair to everyone. If for some reason you are adding grounds in/below the chatbox that mice aren't supposed to be touching make sure to make them out of cloud ground. This is to avoid a glitch were mice can go over the "death line" and troll the shaman/troll the mechanism. (Still relevant despite the new barrier.) If you add grounds that only collide with mice, make them colored so it's clear for everyone. How do I find out if my map's been accepted? I will keep track of all the maps that have been accepted as well as any maps that are removed or that have their difficulty changed in this thread. I'll make a new post every time I check a new set of maps. Why was my map rejected? It can be for a number of reasons, the most common ones being: Unaligned grounds - this one's huge. Laggy/crash maps (Cage) maps that offer nothing new "No b" just because your map is 'too easy'; easy maps are okay "Build-a-thons" (maps that almost always have the same solution that needs to be build), or maps that offer no challenge other than the two minute time limit Bootcamp/racing aspects, like walljumping for shaman/mice Lava/invalid friction blocks that trolls will use to troll the shaman Spawns that kill AFK mice Maps that offer no challenge other than spawning one or a few boards Maps that require full screen - not everybody has it, and spawning there is harder Ice spawns, dead spawns - we don't want to keep pressing buttons just to stay alive, assume us to be AFK for the first ten seconds Fake grounds that will cause mice to suicide Lack of space to build Unnecessary boring parts of a map; two whole minutes is not the goal There's only one solution to the map Map is unoriginal/offers nothing new Youtube channels with solutions Lhayden & Santiarg Sibble Eili Kyklos Dukeonkled Fastyboi Dollyblue Letsshamhard Charlesd Dragnalus Kurtwild & Rojemle Anthonyjones A thank you I'd like to thank Baffler for creating the bots and running them, and Whoever for making the room shaman come true. To anyone who is willing to stop from the nonstop racing public rooms and go and hide in this room where we are all watched as freaks. To Eliosa, Perrkele, Mimeez, and anyone who has helped in the choosing of the maps over the time, and specially to Temple and Stron, who have been running this for the past year, which is something really really impressive. Finally thanks to all those who play in shaman room, regularly or not, because without you the room would die. |
