I've seen this plenty of times in other games with skill trees, so why not here?

There should be a system in the shop that would allow certain item purchases, and/or allow them to be equipped, based on your shaman skill level.

Scenario:
At first, you would see the first few wearables (or furs if that would ever happen), and you can purchase them immediately, equip them if you own them, use fraises to customize colors, etc...

But then, scrolling through the shop, you'd see some items with something like "LOCKED" replacing the usual "Buy" or "Equip" button, and hovering over it would display "Requires Shaman level ## to use."

The lock system would be based on item appearances:
The uglier/simpler the item looks, the lower level you would need to unlock it.
Likewise, the more appealing/flashy it looks, the higher level you would need.


And those who already own some of the items:
For those who have the items unlocked via previous purchases or event rewards, there would be a level requirement to wear it, which would be somewhere between 50-75% of the purchase requirement. This would not apply to event-only items, though.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I don't support this at all. Mice should be able to wear what they want, and spend the fraises to get what they want, without having to grind for it with shaman exp.

This can tire mice and it would be TOTALLY unfair. Levels shouldn't mean anything unless it's to gather points.

Sure It's unfair, but if the item costs a lot of cheese then by the time you get that cheese you might already be that shaman level. There is extra motivation to leveling, and people who are bummed on how little shaman points they have may be attoned by the items they have available. Rare Items that can be in shop year around would be nice. Imagine a level 100 item, level 90, level 80, and lower.
