[~map editeur] collab tag |
1 | ||
<C><P F="0" collab="Fxie,Begentle" /><Z><S><S X="400" Y="390" T="0" H="40" P="0,0,0.3,0.2,0,0,0,0" L="800" /></S><D><T Y="370" X="60" /><F Y="360" X="740" /></D><O /></Z></C> The collab tag would simply allow listed mice to make edits to the map. This is not a real-time multi-mice map editing suggestion, this is quite simply sharing the ability to edit a map. This would not change or affect the original author in any way, the original author would obviously not need to be tagged to make edits, and no sort of "credit sharing" would be officially enforced. This would simply allow tagged users to make edits to your map. Practical applications • Minigame authors can be tagged in map submissions for their minigame to allow them to make necessary changes to the map without the hassle of going through various pastebins. • Services such as map "touch-ups" could be more easily employed. Of course, you would restrict tagging to people you know you can trust. • Friends could help eachother with and, basically, collaborate on maps. |

This sounds very well thought out and something that should be easy enough to create without a real-time map editor like has been suggested before, something I can actually see happening. You have my support for this. |

/no support It's cool and all but not really all too needed imo. and could end up a lot like the whole thing where you could make someone spirtual cheif, the author could make a map even, and their friend could turn it into say a penis map if they got mad there go getting you banned. true it could add some nice stuff, but I don't like the sounds of the risk involved, not because I think my maps would get ruined by friend-trolls, but a lot of others would. If the original author is the person who it shows made the map like I think you said/meant in your post, all the trouble would go too them. I still won't support it either way, but I'd just like to suggest to add maybe a notification of someway too know when someone has edited your map, that way you can check up on it. Of course this would mean there would need to be a notification system also implimented. |

You have to know how map XML works, which already weeds out nearly everyone naïve enough to make that mistake. |

From the sound of how you put the thread it would seem the other person would not need any experience with XML, only the author would. The other person would put in the code of the map and could make it inopropriate with color grounds. Unless I'm wrong about how this would work, if so please correct me |

The other person doesn't decide who the author includes. |

Fxie a dit : Fxie a dit : Yes, that's what i'm trying too point out, in the OP it states the Author of the map would be the original creater. Fxie a dit : So the way that says it, it sounds like they would only be workers and can't have credit for the work, or bad things they did too the map. So it won't matter if the other person can or cannot decide who the author includes, it will always be the original person. So that person would be the one to get in trouble for their actions, or the one getting rewards for someone elses work, it's a situation of major risk |

So you just collab with someone who isn't an idiot and problem solved. Supporting this by the way, I think it'd be really cool. |

Alternatively don't collab at all. Anyone can be foolish, that's out of our control and always will be. Can better security measures be implemented? Yeah, but don't expect them. I purposefully avoided expanding this idea because I know it would never be added if I did. |

/support I love the idea, it would make map making easier. |

I am supporting this by bringing it to the top. This is so easy to implement, I'm confident keeping it in plain sight will raise some pink noses |

Great Idea, also for the people who are against it. If you let someone edit a map, it is your responsability if this person cannot be trusted you shouldn't have given him the right to edit the map in the first place. Also if you still are scared the map is always originally yours so if the tag gets changed by the other player. The map will always be your map, so if you keep an backup of the xml. You can always revert the map if there are issues. And even if the player removes you from the tag, the player who submitted the @code is the person who always has the right for the map. In that case this would be a great addition. I will support. /support |
