This subforum is used to discuss the various modules found in Transformice, and the Module API itself for developers. Module threads with the word "Official" in their title are modules that you can play via /module #ModuleName in your tribehouse or by just going to the room with its name (i.e. /room #deathmatch). If there is no "Official" in the title, then the game is not always going to be up, however there should be an explanation in the thread of how to play it. Please note there is a distinction between Official Modules (the threads you see here) and official Transformice minigames (bootcamp, survivor, defilante, vanilla and music). This is not the subforum in which to discuss official Transformice minigames; you may do so in the Discussions subforum instead. You can read about modules and the Module API and ask questions pertaining to it in the Module FAQ & Documentation thread. 1. Post any suggestions or bugs for existing modules in the appropriate threads. If you wish to suggest a feature or report a bug for an existing module, you can do so in that module's discussion thread, or in the Module Suggestions or Module Bugs threads respectively. 2. Do not make suggestions for new modules or minigames here. This subforum is only for the discussion of existing modules and the API. If you wish to suggest a new module you can do so in the Suggestions forum. 3. Do not make request threads. If you want a specific piece of code written for you, then please use the Script Requests thread. 4. One module per thread. Please do not talk about multiple modules inside a single thread, every one should have its own thread to be discussed in. 5. The module's creator has the right to make the official thread for their minigame. If you want to create a thread for a module that you didn't make, keep in mind your thread may be locked if the creator of the minigame chooses to make his own thread. It would be considerate to ask the original minigame maker before making a thread. 6. All module threads must have a sufficient amount of information to stay open. If you're creating a thread for a module, it would be better to describe the minigame that you're advertising. A short description describing the minigame and its rules as well as the original creator(s) of the minigame should suffice, but things like images of the minigame and where to submit maps for it would be nice. 7. Do not make a thread for a small amount of code. If you would like to share small scripts that you have created you can use the Lua snippets thread rather than creating an entire thread for them. 8. Do not claim other people's scripts as your own. Do not claim scripts that you did not make. If you wish to share a script from another community then get permission from the creator and properly credit them. 9. Explain how to run your module. If you are creating a thread to advertise a module, you must explain how people can play it, whether it's an official module, you give the source code for people to run with the /lua command, or to contact yourself to run it, the thread should be clear so that players are not confused. » Module FAQ & Documentation » Script Requests » Lua Snippets » Function Library » Module API Errors » Module Suggestions » Module Bugs Finally, remember that the Modules subforum is also subject to the General Forum Rules and Guidelines. There's been a slight update to the rules and guidelines for this board! For the most part they're the same, but it's worth re-reading to make sure you don't miss anything. The biggest change is the addition of rule 9, "Explain how to run your module". |
