  • Actual idea
  • Rejected
As everyone knows some of the shaman skills are imbalanced and not fun, so I have decided to make this thread with some of my ideas.

  • 1) Mechanic changes: making skills work only for one of the shamans
There is one huge problem for shaman skills - double shaman maps. Whats wrong? The problem is that some of the shaman players don't want to play with some skills e.g. "Cleats", "Big Shaman", so they don't pick it, but on this kind of maps if one of shamans has one of these skills it would work for both, wich is obviously not so fun for second shaman. I think it is a solid reason to make skills applied only for one of the shamans. Also it can be an option allowing player to chose if he wants to play with another players' skills or not.

Thats all, thanks for wasting your time. Have fun and firsts.

upd: some of ideas were rejected.
  • 2) Skills changes: disabling skills untill first mouse gets victory
Another problem with skills is the fact, that some of them are used to give away firsts. This is disgusting. The most common thing nowadays is a "Companion crate" blocking hole, shaman teleporting in and then teleporting in a target mouse. Second use of "Teleporter" is teleporting some mice away from getting into the hole, wich is pure trolling. We have "Easy Victory" and "Chief's Food" blocked and I think following skills should share the same destiny: "Ambulance", "Teleporter", "Companion Crate". It would significantly reduce the amount of in-game trolling.
  • 3) "Clean Mouse": removing or reworking
"Clean Mouse" is obviously a game breaking and not a fun skill to play with. Noobs pick it cause they don't know they are selling their souls to Satan and trolls are picking it, cause it is the easiest way of ruining maps. Anyway skill's are designed to help shaman save mice or just to let him have some fun, wich is not working for this skill properly. The main problem is the fact shamans can't control how it actually works. So my idea is removing it and making something instead new or reworking it. I have no idea about what new skill should be added - I better leave it for TFM-team - so i would share my rework idea.
As i think it is possible to make a summonable buble in the shamans objects list, wich can be instantly summoned in the small radius near the place some mice died. One summoning area for one mouse, disappearing after shaman makes a buble there. Shaman can summon 1/2/3/4/5 bubles. So there are actually the same bubles, but shaman has some control. This skill would be still be viable for trolling, but it is the same as balloons actually.

I think your first point is a good one and I definitely support it. In some cases I think the status quo isn't so bad, for example with the Big Cheese skill adding up the levels on both shamans. Cleats can be a terrible annoyance however.

Your second point is likely to be rejected by the admins. Trolling is part of the game and even blocking a few of the skills before mice are in took considerable effort to get approved. The general view is that if a lot of skills are blocked until mice make it in, they cannot be used very often.

Your third point already is rejected by the admins. I'm afraid (for your plan) that Tigrounette loves the bubbles and the chaos they bring to maps. It's not going to be changed.

Well I was also having similar thoughts about second idea, but i came up with a conclusion that there can be fun trolling like building Anvil Gods etc. and there can also be some ridiculous stuff for stats farmers. I mean 1st one is fun at least for shaman doing it, but 2nd one is not. It was actually fun when there were no skills, cause mice could do something about that and it was kind of contest even though shaman tried to make friend to take victory, but with "Teleporter" it is just a boring farmfest.

And it's fine about bubbles. It was not an absolutly great idea, but just an opinion.
