Perhaps it was fate that brought the mouse to his part of the story. Trystram and Window Arken, two very quiet, solemn mice within the village, “Océan Bleu”, grew up in a very silent house with their mother and father. The mother was sweet and hushed, but the father was very strict and violent, taking out rather physical anger on Trystram on the worst of days.


One day, Trystram wrote a short story after a rather sorrowful evening. One did not even tell me what happened, but it inspired that story. About the wolf-mouse and the sea-mouse, childhood friends. The alpha leader did not allow the two to meet, but the beta did in secret. As soon as he finished, there was only silence. And then a hiss. The quiet mouse passed out peacefully to the quiet hiss.


When Arken awoke, he found himself alongside a murky seashore. He looked in, and the first thing he yelped as he looked into the water was, “Loup! Wolf!”, and backed away. For what he saw was a wolf-mouse with silvery fur and lime green eyes instead of his usual emerald. He tripped into someone, but he did not know who they were. When he turned around, he paused, looking at the grey-furred mouse with bits of seaweed placed in almost hidden spots with glossy black eyes, “Hello, Trystram, mon ami.”, she said with a nod with her head.
