It was back in 2019 when we were building maps as shamans in #LCN build and catching each other in them after we were done.

I thought, "why not make them replayable"?

-----------------------------------------------------

This module is a collection of various unique maps following two main principles: the maps are composed of objects and designed so mice can catch each other on various interesting obstacles.

https://images.atelier801.com/171da32855e.pngRunning the script is resource-intensive due to the large number of objects composing the maps.
Player discretion in selecting maps appropriate for their computer is advised.

The module is playable using two methods.

  • /room #bodykudo0catch - the module room. Due to the inactivity of the responsible module team member, the script in this room is usually outdated and does not contain the newest maps.
  • /lua - loading the script yourself in the tribe house.

Click here to access the newest version of the script (v55, 10/07/2024)

There is no automated system for detecting who is caught. The usual way we play is that if the catcher gets in front of the mouse, that mouse has been caught and becomes the new catcher.

At the beginning of the round, type !choose to select the first catcher. After that, quickly double-press 2 on the keyboard when you are caught to become a catcher. As soon as there's a new catcher, the previous one becomes a normal mouse.

  • If your standalone supports it, consider changing the quality. In most cases, there is a great performance increase after changing the quality to Low or Medium.

    https://i.imgur.com/Kori0kj.png

  • Maps are color-coded in the atlas according to their object count. If a map caused performance issues, chances are all other maps in that color category will have similar effects.

  • Decreasing the window size might help. Lowering it to the default 800x600 resolution, however, is not recommended as it takes away user experience playing the maps.

Keys
  • 2 - makes a player the red catcher. Must be double-pressed quickly to work!
  • 4 - makes a player the olive green catcher if two catcher mode is enabled. Must be double-pressed quickly to work!
  • Up / W - makes the player fly if flight is enabled
  • Ctrl - hold to see map properties

Commands
  • !atlas - opens the listing of maps
  • !choose - selects a random mouse from the room and makes them the catcher
  • !flymode - toggles flight
  • !kill [playerName] - kills a player
  • !map [mapCode or random] - changes the map
  • !map* [mapCode or random] - changes the map and makes it mirrored
  • !noportals - toggles portals in maps that have them
  • !pw [password] - sets a room password (module room only)
  • !twocatchermode - toggles two catchers

How can make with a lot of sham object

1. You can run /lua in your tribehouse, add a line that loads a map and paste there xml (exceeding grounds through miceditor)
2. you can add reload="" value in your xml and run the map in #utility or #cbase. Example @7935921

How can make with a lot of sham object

To simplify what M^15 said, any XML loaded through Lua, may it be a module or a script, has no restrictions, such as those on size, object/ground count etc.
