If you have a windows computer, use the command /avatar. This helped me with the fix it being out yet

Updating your picture in the game also changes it on the forum. If it doesn't show up for you, try clearing your browser cache:

I'm seeing avatars on the forum through Safari on macOS, iOS & iPadOS, but not through Edge on Windows.

I'm seeing avatars on the forum that were uploaded in-game and, for users whom I assume previously had avatars and haven't since uploaded avatars in-game, I'm seeing the default avatar image on the forum.

On the forum as rendered by Edge on Windows, I'm seeing the default avatar image on some pages for users who have uploaded an avatar in-game.

Ok, so displaying avatars on the forum seems to be very inconsistent between different browsers...

On Firefox, I can see users' avatars, but not the default one. An older version of Seamonkey which I often use doesn't show any profile pictures, but it can't display many websites correctly anyway, so that's not surprising.


I found something curious:

On the forum's user profile, there is an option to remove an avatar, right under the broken "change avatar" feature. (It only shows up when you have an avatar already.) On an alt account, I logged both into the game and the forum at once. I first uploaded a picture in-game, which showed up on the forum after I refreshed the profile page. Then I used the remove option on the forum, and the avatar disappeared both on the forum profile and in the game. I changed the picture in-game, and the new one showed up there, but not on the forum, not even when clearing the cache or using another browser. It only became visible on the forum page after I used the forum's "change avatar" function - I selected a different picture there, but it showed the one that was last used in-game. I set a new picture in-game again and removed it again on the forum; it disappeared in both places. I used the forum's "change avatar" option again, with yet another picture, and the image I last uploaded in the game was reinstated.

Conclusions:
1. The "remove avatar" function does indeed remove the picture from the game and forum profile, but apparently not from the database. It also seems to be capable of blocking a new image from appearing in the forum.
2. The "change avatar" function fails to upload a new picture, but can re-activate the one last used in-game (as long as it has been uploaded after all users' profile pictures were trashed, apparently, seeing as it didn't restore my main account's original image).
