~Portal is now in Transformice!

We are proud to present an unusual and interesting game called "Portal" with unique rules!

Portal is a challenging puzzle game based on a well-known Lua script (the original source can be found at the bottom). Just like in regular maps, your goal is to collect the cheese and reach the hole. However, instead of traditional obstacles, you'll face a variety of puzzles that become increasingly difficult and require more creative solutions. This means you'll need strong logical thinking and only minimal in-game skills to complete the maps (you won't need to master bootcamps just to beat them). How many maps can you complete, and how long will it take you?

P.S. Original (Portal Gun)

• Red - Objects can pass through it, but the mouse cannot.
• Blue - Mice can pass through it, but objects cannot.
• Green - You can pass only without cheese.
• Yellow - You can pass only with cheese.
• Orange - You can pass if the mouse has collected all the cheese on the map.
• Cyan - Passing through it removes the portals.
• Brown - You cannot pass if you have 2 or more pieces of cheese.

Delete – Kill yourself.
Q – Remove portals.
N – Kill everyone. (Admin only)

To be honest, we originally planned to release the full v1.3 version, including the fifth location, on the English forum back in 2020–2021.

However, we eventually burned out. Balancing the fifth location turned out to be much harder than we expected. Creating these kinds of puzzle maps on a regular basis requires a lot of time and mental energy, and we simply needed a break. Unfortunately, that break ended up lasting much longer than intended.

By that time, our friend and mapper Kokosik070#1008 had already quit Transformice for good. Cepejjaa#0000 and I continued working on the new location from time to time, but progress was slow and irregular.

Then came the war in Ukraine. I personally had to relocate, and under those circumstances it was no longer possible for us to continue working together on the project.

And then, if I remember correctly, a few days before New Year 2023, Cepejjaa#0000 passed away after a battle with cancer. He fell into a coma and never recovered. I only learned about it roughly 14 months later.

Overall, the road wasn't an easy one for our team. Various circumstances, both inside and outside the game, eventually prevented us from finishing the project the way we originally intended.

I've finally decided after nearly five years to share it on the English forum. I hope some of you will enjoy exploring these maps and seeing what we managed to create.

To create your own map for this mode, you simply need to... create a map.

In other words, you can build a fully playable level using nothing more than the standard map editor and line 54 of our script (the level list stored in local levels).

For all 7 colored platform types to work correctly, they must use the following colors:

Red - any shade of red
Blue - any shade of blue
Green - #15A600
Yellow - #A69800
Orange - #FF9B00
Cyan - #00FFF9
Brown - #423520

Once these colors are used correctly, the script will automatically recognize the platforms and apply their corresponding mechanics.

Long ago, work began on maps for the fifth location, but the project was never completed. Still, for those who are curious, here are the maps from the cancelled v1.3 update that I managed to recover:

- @7824440
- @7824658 (a map that turns an imperfection in the code into a gameplay mechanic - arguably the hardest map ever made for this mode, and not really recommended for normal play)
- @7827485
- @7834096
- @7866542

How to load a map:
Type /lua and locate line 54 in the script.
Find the local levels variable and replace any existing map ID with the ID of the map you want to play (for example, replace 7697646 with 7824440).

Warning! These maps come from the unreleased v1.3 beta version. Some of them may be excessively difficult, unfinished, or poorly balanced. One of the maps was even designed around an imperfection in the code that was intentionally turned into a gameplay mechanic.

If you decide to play them, do so at your own risk.
