Fight Minigame Map Submissions Thread What is room fight? Put simply, room fight is a room where a bot plays shaman fight maps! Two shamans fight to the death, the first one to die loses and the other shaman gains a win to add to his fight stats, Stats can be found here: http://cheese.formice.com/minigames/fight Where do you come in? We need mapmakers to make custom maps that will be played in room fight. There are only 3 steps to getting your map in the room fight rotation! Step 1) Create your map following the Suggested Map guidelines. Step 2) Submit your map in the thread using the Preferred Submission format. Step 3) Your map will be reviewed and you will be notified of the outcome in this thread. We will do our best to give you reasons for your map's rejection if it is rejected so that you can improve future submissions. Map Creation guidelines These are the guidelines that we would like to see followed in submitted maps. They are designed to keep the fights fun and fair for the fighters. Remember! All maps submitted should be submitted as tribehouse maps. Avoid copying pre-existing fight maps or ideas (e.g. one long platform with nothing else), the current list can be found here: http://cheese.formice.com/maps?list=tag&tags=fight-minigame.20 Along with the vanilla maps: 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 140, 143, 1) Fair. You should have the same chance of winning irrespective of whether you spawn as a pink shaman or a blue shaman. Good maps demonstrating this rule include all official fight maps (45-53 and 138-143) Excepting map 46. On map 46 the pink shaman is at a clear disadvantage. We wouldn't consider perming maps with such a large disadvantage as seen on map 46. ![]() 2) Mice kept out of the way. A shaman fight is between 2 mice, the shamans. Mice should be there to spectate and enjoy watching the battle, not to actively influence and get in the way of it. If mice can get in the way it should be difficult for them to do so (Map 53) because a shaman has been knocked there during the course of a battle (As often happens in Maps 47 and 48) or it should take them some time to actually get in the way of the fight (As seen in map 49). Most of the newest additions to the official maps (excluding map 142) unfortunately do not demonstrate this well. We see these as poor fight maps. Mice get in the way almost instantly and unfairly affect a fight, worsening the experience for all involved. ![]() 3) Not too easy to win. If the fight is easily over in one very hard-to-dodge shot, both the winner and loser may feel a bit cheated of a proper fight turn. ![]() 4) Not too difficult to win. Similar to guideline 3, if a map allows the shamans to survive very easily or makes a killing shot very difficult to achieve then it isn't much fun, either for the spectators or the shamans trying to have a good fight. ![]() 5) Well aligned and onscreen. As is a general rule with most maps that are permed now, the map must be well aligned and fully visible to those without fullscreen. ![]() ![]() 6) Open space This guideline is a bit less strict than the others, generally more open maps with lots of room for manoeuvrability are better than more clustered, enclosed maps. However there can be good enclosed and more confined maps also. If you have a great “confined space” map feel free to submit it! We're open to new ideas and styles of fight map. ![]() How to place the Shaman spawn/Holes on a dual shaman map: Generally fight maps have two holes. When the map is permed each shaman will spawn at a hole, don't place a shaman spawn, just the two holes and a mice spawn. If you only want one hole on your map, or want a spawn point for both shaman's to be the same that's fine too. On maps with one hole place a shaman spawn to denote where you want the shamans to spawn. Remember, on maps with 1 hole both shamans will spawn on top of each other wherever the shaman spawn is placed. (We'll need pics to explain this) Remember, 2 shamans won't spawn on your maps until a mod perms the map. Preferred submission format: XMLs will not be tested. When submitting your map to the thread we would appreciate it if you stuck to this basic template: @Mapnumber Basic description of how the map could be played and any key features it offers to fighters. Aww, Wanted to be the first to post my map but Rah! :3 @2927849 Description: The 2 Shamans start one on the right and one on the left. I saw that no maps have that kind of 'grounds' and concept so I wanted to make one. To help mice get out after winning the fight, the shaman just needs to canon the cloud (Under the Ice block) and mice will push the ice block to get out. Then, Shaman builds! (Not hard construction). Oh, and thanks in advance! |

@2806825 The pink and blue shaman start at exactly the same place. Basically, the mouse starts off with free cheese, and the shaman must build through the space between the 2 grounds to get them to the hole. I added a bottom left ground just in case it doesn't look to plain and where a shaman might land after it gets hit with a cannon, I put a slanted ground so that the shamans could withstand the attack if it was to much impact. (Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if this doesn't get accepted, it's not a very well-thought-out-map). |
