Chapter 5
North's Pov:
When I woke up it had been because of Frenchie, He has wanted ME of all people to go wake everyone up. Why does he always want me to do these kind of things? He knows I'm not a people person. I mean come on! Not fair. I slowly threw on my clothes and walked out of my room. I thought I would get Torio done with first. I walked to his room and came in without even asking, well that was easy. He wasn't even asleep yet at four in the morning. He had been programming all night long. Sucks for him. He doesn't get any sleep for the mission. Oh well, that's his problem not mine. I told him to get some clothes on and come down to eat breakfast because our first mission was today. He groaned and shut his laptop, Rolled off his bed and crawled out into the hallway, I shut the door behind him and walked away, I woke everyone up after about thirty minutes. It felt much longer though.

Rayne's Pov:
I was really crabby this morning. Like so crabby you don't mess with me or you're gonna get super smashed. I poured my Cereal into my bowl and yawned. Then I saw torio plop down beside me at the table, I just glared at him. Little twerp. "So, do you like eating the full of fat kind or the nonfat kind, either one to make your appearance better?" He asked me. The question itself didn't make much sense and neither did the person that asked it so I decided I was just going to ignore him. When he wouldn't leave me alone I smacked him across the face, He called it child abuse, but I called it relieving stress.

Ahiel’s Pov:
I woke up from North coming and telling me the first mission was today, I groaned, I had forgotten all about that! I thought it would be another fun lazy day. Oh well. I sighed and got dressed, then I brushed my hair and picked up my scythe. I wanted to look presentable at least. I walked downstairs not so cheerfully, but I wasn't too grumpy. It’s not good to be grumpy it only makes things worse in life. When I got downstairs I told many people good morning. Some were smiling others were mumbling to themselves some would just not respond to anything you said. Ok, they can be that way if they really want to be. It’s only going to affect themselves!

Frenchie’s Pov:
When they all gathered in the kitchen I told them about what their missions would be like, after that quick summary I assigned them their quests. I was planning to have them start today because that would make things much faster. I wanted this world to be safer as soon as it could be, evil is rising faster than they may think.

Jenshin’s Pov:
I bowed to my master. He had had many discussions with us all lately about the blade. How powerful it was and what it could do. He was having a final meeting with us before we went on our mission. Lala yawned “Why is it so boooooring around here?” She asked “Lala. Quit interrupting.” Our master said. “Right, right sorry” She apologized. The master suddenly said “We rise tonight”

North’s POV
Frenchie had us moving very soon after he explained everything. Some of us were on horseback, others by ship, and few by wing. He had put us into squads that consisted of 3 or more mice. They had to be people who would work well together. This didn’t mean we would be partnered with people we like, but with people that the outcome would become something truly amazing.
You can probably guess who I was partnered with. That’s right, Torio. At least I had Camille and Ahiel as squad members too. I knew I wouldn’t enjoy having Torio in my squad, but I would most likely grow used to it.
Our group was on horseback, this made me quite happy; I had been trained in horseback riding. I actually had brought my horse to camp with me. My father was always trying to find hidden talents I had. It turns out all I have is my magic and skill for horseback riding.
My thinking was interrupted by the quiet conversation of Camille and Ahiel’s. They were riding behind me and my hearing was not so great so it was a struggle to make out what they were saying. I slowed down a bit, this allowed them to get closer to my horse. Naturally, their horses took this opportunity and I started to hear more of what they were talking about.
“I’m just glad Mr. Mustache isn’t in our group, could you imagine what it would be like with him and Torio?”
I recognized this voice as Camille’s. Soon after, I heard Ahiel’s voice.
“I don’t want to imagine our squad with both of them!” She laughed.
The conversation was an equal amount of them talking back and forth from there.
“Did you hear that Kageri is stuck with Mr. Mustache, Cliff, and worst of all, Tsunami!”
“Wow, that’s too bad.”
“I realized that Cliff actually is kind of sweet. He acts like he has no feelings for anyone, but in reality, I think he cares a lot about people. I mean he’ll never be as sweet as me, but I figured I would at least give him some acknowledgement”
I scoffed at this.
“You think he acts tough? I’ve always thought he was a nice guy who just wanted some company from others”
“Well he never acted like that around me”
“There might be a reason” I said louder than I had meant to.
“And what exactly do you mean by that, may I ask!”
“Oh nothing, I just think you have a bit of attitude problems. For example, you’re in love with yourself”
“North!” Ahiel scolded.
“I don’t care what you think! I have plenty of friends! Anyways, why were you listening to us in the first place?”
“It’s entertaining listening to girls gossiping”
“It’s also creepy to listen in on other’s conversations just for the fun of it!”
“Hmmmph!” Was the last thing I heard before she kicked her horse in the stomach. This made it go crazy, it bolted off ahead onto the bridge at full speed. I heard a cracking but could not see what was happening.
Torio’s slow horse was trotting along in front of Ahiel and me. We rushed past him and his horse before seeing what had happened. Thank goodness, she had made it across. The bad thing was, the bridge was broken and we had no way of getting to the other side.
“This is what happens when you have temper tantrums like that!” I yelled. I knew she heard me.
“You don’t have to argue with her” I heard Ahiel mumble from behind me.
“It’s hard not to”
Tristan’s POV
My group was Pakio, Rayne and I. Xij used to be in it as well but we lost him. No joke. We all had fun creating our own theories about where Xij went after disappearing. Rayne thought he went off to live his life, making his own pizza parlor. Out of a cardboard box and crayons. I thought he was probably living his life in a dumpster somewhere. Last but not least, Pakio believed that a cat got him. We all shivered at the thought. The odd thing about Xij going missing was that we were going by shaman wing. I’m not exactly sure how we could have lost him. Did his shaman magic just run out? Who knows? If it did that drop to the ground would be hard on a mouse. I hated even thinking about it.
Well, either way, one less guy to hit on Rayne. I mentally slapped myself. What was I thinking? Rayne was my friend, nothing more. She would’ve slapped me too, if she could see my thoughts.
Our squad’s job was to fly all the way to what Frenchie thinks is our enemy’s base and attack from above as a distraction. We will then go on top looking for secret entrances. We don’t know the whole plan. Frenchie will most likely send messengers later on.
