I think it's actually a very good idea that people can't request a removal/lock for their threads in those 'more' important subforums. If there's a good and an active thread and it suddenly disappears, I'm pretty sure it makes people confused. If they create it once, it will stay there for the community.
To be honest, I'm not 100% sure what's wrong with a lock if a sentinel properly explains that the lock was requested, but I fully agree with not allowing requested removals.
And this is just me being curious: Do you let people request a removal for their already locked threads in discussions subforum?

If you can understand the post well, you're not supposed to report it. Report posts that are not understandable only.

Also, with the request on locked threads thing, shouldn't it be allowed once the thread has lost its purpose (i.e ended tourneys, threads about events that ended, birthdays that passed etc.)?

I hate the new rules, I want the old ones back.
