If badges are put in the system today, it should be today. It was the same with fishing, easter, winter event. (Event released some hours later after putting badges on the system.) Same with consumables.

After them being registered, the event usually took place a few days (if not one day) after. I don't recall it ever being the same day unless your timezone calls for it.
