Oshoe a dit : I do the same, but I know many people don't. I only learned to do it the hard way... |

We force the brigaders to use a virtual machine so they don't compromise their computer. |

I dont know who to believe now cries |

Melibellule a dit : You compare yourself to Guild Wars 2 and World of Warcraft in one breath (As an excuse to completely ignore your Staff), and use kids to help you find hacks for you in the next. Can't you see the irony? |

Melibellule a dit : Yeah, that makes sense but should people being added to the hack brigade not actually have knowledge of how to deal with viruses? Forcing them to use a VM is also going to cause problems resource wise meaning less people are viable to do this already, if you force people to use a sandbox instead it will allow a lot more people to take part. |

Nhshrike a dit : Of course anyone participating should have good knowledge of viruses and computer security in general. There's no real way they can FORCE people to use a VM at all, so if someone wants to use a sandbox or another method completely that'd be up to them, I suppose. |

I think you guys should discuss it from a different perspective too, would be interesting; 1. What the hackers would do 2. Imagine if you are tigrou!! |

Onkei a dit : 1. Apply to the anti hack brigade and be a step ahead (and use the virtual machine to evade bans for the distant future) 2. Create a secret anti anti hack brigade infiltrator team crew. Then again it might go differently! |

I think the idea was a joke. The admins, with their recent replies in this thread can't be serious |

Onkei a dit : 1. Look for a different hack. Hacks enough on the internet. 2. AMG I HAVE A SPY ARMY LOOK AT MY AWESOMENESS :DDDDDDDD Close enough? And the hackmakers will just replace the broken hack with a new one. They only have one hack to take care of, tig has more. Who'll be tired of it sooner? The hackers won't care because the spy army can't ban. They'll just find different hacks and go to servers with no security. |

Shamousey a dit : If somebody added didn't have that kind of knowledge then it would be pretty terrible. Shamousey a dit : Well yeah, of course they can't force it but a sandbox would be better than a VM for this kind of job so I don't know why that isn't encouraged instead. |

Streamr a dit : It's just Tig who's fooling around at the wrong time. Yunachu a dit : Tig's been doing it for three years, most of the "major" hack makers have given up. I think that says enough. Nhshrike a dit : I don't see a problem with VMs being suggested, but I have to agree that it'd make sense to encourage a sandbox instead/as well. The more options, the merrier. |

Shamousey a dit : Of course VM's being encouraged isn't a problem but they'd be better off having VM's being an alternative suggestion. |

People are going crazy about the final season of Breaking Bad, but to them I say "you don't know what you're missing!" Following on from the smash hit "Mods Got Fired [Working Title]" the drama here is no less intense! The axe-to-grind pragmatists, the naive sycophants, it's got everything! Melibellule's virtual machine revelation plot-twist was really well executed I thought, and Tig's aloof antagonist character offers some genuine comic relief from the drama as well. How's it all gonna end?! I don't know, but I'm intrigued to find out! Seriously more entertaining than actually playing the game at this point. |

Melibellule a dit : Very good propose. ( irony ) The main reason a virus could propagate from VM to host Operating System is via the network. Once you start using bridged networking between the host and guest things get more risky. Your machine and the VM are seen as 2 nodes on the same subnet. A worm which sees these 2 nodes has the possibility of propagation if such a vulnerability is found. Also unless there's a security flaw in Virtualbox that allows you to break out of the VM (and you've not patched), then no. However, it's worth remembering that if there's any network connection between the two, there's the possibility of it moving to the host, as it would move between normal machines on the same network. Examples: Boomerang virus |

do the people who find and test the hacks get banned for it? |
