You don't need a new comp just to look at .gif images. :/

Okay then how about an option too 'disable them' just like with outfits.

Personally I hope someone will create a new animated image codex that has like a million times smaller size. The loading time for gifs with my horrible internet is not making it easy.

GIF supports interlacing so if you had any internet lag, the images would gradually increase quality. If your pc can run tfm at 30+ fps, you don't have to worry about the average GIF animation lol.

Multiple .gif images usually lag and lock my laptop up, hence why I said what I did.

Keep dreaming everyone uses .gif I doubt anyone would think of making that.

Google please!!! I know they made a decently compacked codex for 4k, now make easy better gifs.

I personally can live without having gif avatars.

There are better compressed (lossy) image formats (and standards) that support animation, but GIF has been a much used standard for a long time, nobody would invest the money in other ones at the moment. Hence why JPEG is widely used even though there's better formats. It's all about money.

Also, a million times smaller? There's boundaries in compression, Impure :D

Good point. Like photo images there's probably a million different formats probably 10X better out there.

And add a option for .gif and if u want u can disable .gif's and then it will only show the first frame.

Bmp is lossless, no compression (most cases). Just pure pixel-per-pixel information. Worst format to use through the internet.
