Grats Xorcist! I do have some criticism towards how the final was handled though. Not only it's sad that the massive favourite to win it all (betel) couldn't make it, but if you were going to replace no-shows with people who didn't quite make it to the finals, it would've greatly helped if it was announced beforehand that that's how you were going to handle it. As it was, two 6th places from the semis which of other wasn't even close to making the cut got a free pass for the finals. As Yogii said, he was hoping rpownz and me could make it to the finals but it's hard to make it when you don't know that you're expected to be around. Not that I would've made a difference with those maps (and I doubt rpownz would've either) without sweeping the last one (a distinct possibility), but it's just something to consider for the next time. |

Cheers for the finalists (and congrats to the romantic French couple Xorcist and Cloude!). It's rather sad and anti-climactic that I had to be plentifully busy just before the final, but shit happens. Definitely will be looking forward to another one (especially during Winter Break maybe? ;D), and I'll be sure to show what True Odyssey is. prr a dit : Tis just a slight misjudgement, honestly everything was going according to plan and was doing great up until my sudden dilemma ~12 hours before the finals. It just happens thereon after a series of unfortunate events. Dernière modification le 1416283080000 |

Prr a dit : I agree, and apologise, I shouldn't have let anyone else play in it at all. I had a full set of 8 confirmations for the final, and I had warned Rpownz that if someone dropped out, he would get the place, so he should attempt to make it there for the start time. As soon as I read that Betel had dropped out, I messaged Rpownz that he could definitely play (and should have - but didn't - organise a second reserve). I really wasn't expecting Bleees and Rpownz to then not make it for the start of the final, so I improvised with the best I had to hand. At the time, I thought it would be a good idea to have more players for a full game, really it just caused confusion. In hindsight, I should probably have just run the final with 6 players, for future tournaments I think I'll be stricter with timings overall, just playing on with less players if some don't turn up. This will actually feel more unfair, when certain players get through to the quarter final purely because they turned up (if half the players missed a group match), and no leeway for people who happen to have no internet or no power at their originally allotted time. At the same time, it would be a lot less work for me, clearer for everyone, and much harder for people to legitimately complain about the way it was run. |

Congrats Xorcist! I was busy that whole weekend and had literally no time to play. Although I don't think I had any chance on winning. Thanks to Yogii for organizing this event. I see the end of the tournament as a great opportunity to say goodbye to this game. The last few months I've only played the game during the weekend, and mostly to practice or play the tournament. It's time to move on. “The story of life is quicker than the wink of an eye, the story of love is hello and goodbye...until we meet again” -Jimi Hendrix Take care. |
