Illstartover a dit : First of all, let me explain to you why you shouldnt worry about that. Hackers need to be sync to be able to spawn objects. Or they need to use the game mechanics. Tfm has coded in a limitation of objects that disallows you to use it. Meaning that if you would try spawn in things you couldn't you can't. Except if the hacker is the sync. But nowadays you need 1000 or so saves or cheese (one of the 2) I think it is, to be able to become the synchroniser as shaman. Which means you cannot use hacks unless you use a account that has already played for atleast a while. In short, I don't expect hack abuse for the new stuff. Sync = Short for synchroniser. This is a player asigned by the game to update all the other players in the room with the objects/object data (speed, rotation, location), and it does this every 2 sec. This is to make all the players see the same things happening on the screen. |

If this is the case, literally nobody was ever told about this. It's the first time I've heard about it; but if it's true then it's damn smart thinking on Tig's part given the bootcamp portal hackers. But even so people will just used shared accounts. :/ |

I will be upset because the basis and focus of the game will be more on shamming because it has more to offer than cheese farming, firsts, bootcamp, etc. |

Rutabega a dit : Ok so the shaman can spawn a apple that people can use to run faster. It will make it so you pay more attention to the shaman. Personally I think a lot of players need to experience the update first hand before judging too much. Athough about the apple thing, if the apple has a collision that would be rather bothersome. Then again, we can always make them ghost apples I suppose. |

Impuredeath a dit : I didn't know that they used this mechanic, thanks for pointing it out. However, I feel that there are other potential vulnerabilities with the new levelup mechanic. First of all, there is the possibility of hacking the levelup dialog, and increasing your stats illegally, even beyond capped values. Lets say there is a skill that grants 5% movement speed per point invested. A hacker gets the skill tree to have 100 points in that skill for a 500% increase in movement speed. This happened in League of Legends with mastery trees. The game needs some way of detecting this foolishness and preventing this. Even if raising skills beyond caps is prevented, there is also the problem of having more than the maximum number of points. There is also the possibility of instant level 100 hacks. These will be harder to detect, as how do you know if the player earned level 100 legitimately or cheated to get there? |

Impuredeath a dit : I was in a "#" room and my coder friend was spawning some of these items like the sheep and the apple. The apple has collision and the sheep blasts you half way up the map. :( |

The server needs to run a sanity check on every skill tree that is submitted to prevent the 500% movement speed syndrome. And even if a hack only works when you are shaman, trust me, hackers will still try it to break the game. |
