What is the benefit of this? Most players will chase the mice yes, but many will go "WHY HAVE YOU DONE THIS TO ME? I'll just die." Weremice just mind of sounds bad to my ears. Werewolf = Wolf. Weremice = Mice. I find werewolves exclusive for wolves, not mice. Just my personal opinion. Plus this will be a pain to make.

Well, it would be boring to just be a chased by vampires, so why not double it and make it even harder? That's what weremice are for. Also, they wouldn't say that because according to the post, it says which ever team wins get the cheese, so they might as well participate if it's for cheese.
That's your personal opinion on how it sounds, but I'm just proving a point.

Exactly. Not everyone will just let their mouse die, it is a competition. And how will it be a "pain to make" ? Furs are being made that are far more complicated than this. At least this is simple base colored, no pattern, and only requires the change in tail, ears, and eyes. It's named weremice, because you wouldn't be able to refer it as wolfmouse, wouldn't really make sense, and it's easy to resemble as the werewolf. I don't really see how this wouldn't benefit, because it would make it more challenging.
