Can we use treadmills for P17 maps? Because grounds that we use for treadmills are dynamic and we can't use dynamic grounds.

there is always exceptions, if the treadmill is used wisely (cannot break glitch etc) it can be treated like any other map.

However there are already a few treadmill P3/P13's so it would be wise to think up a gameplay in another way.

You can but you must speak to a mapcrew/sentinel first to approve them, make them in map editor subforum then ask a sentinel to move it into map submission, but only AFTER you get PERMISSIOn from a mapcrew/sentinel

Most unofficial map contests have been poorly organized and hosted by people who aren't really competent enough to hold one... for that reason I've been discouraging anyone thinking about holding one for a while now. Not trying to be mean, but honestly it's very unlikely that one will be approved of and moved to the Map Submissions section. I don't think people realize how much work is required to successfully host one, and many times they lose interest before it's complete. Additionally with Map Submissions being a global section, a good deal of effort needs to be put into translations, having people available to answer questions in several languages, etc.

Having made my own unofficial contest, I can say barry is correct on this, I had to get a number of judges together and they had not even voted.

I hope I'm using the right thread. So my question is about how to properly use the joints in map editor. I'm trying to make a map where basically 4 blocks rotate around in a circle, and I wanted to try and do it using the joints system, but it's just so confusing. I was wondering if somebody could help? :D

My XML is currently at: http://pastebin.com/Mf9FHtkb

It's not close to complete, but the only part I'm stuck on is the mechanism. Any hints or help towards figuring this out would be appreciated!

This thread by holo is very helpful in understanding each joint and what it is for. Topic-203441

Also i would suggest trying out nyoibu's editor
makes trial and error a whole lot less frustrating with joints.

So basically you need to make an anchor with grounds first. Imagine joints as invisible ropes or the sort.

Yeah Nyo's editor really helped me understand the joints a lot better since I could see how they were connected much clearer than in debug mode. Thank you though!

Is it possible to make a scroll map's length over 1600 if you aren't an admin?

You have to make the map into "defilante" with the new length (4800 is max I believe).

Use this thread to learn how to add defilante properties without it scrolling on its own.

to make anchors placed down in the map editor visable just make two things the achor is attached to dynamic, make these two dynamic object mass = 999999 and damping 9999, however I recomend you just use Topic-162564 to make rain, it would be easyer. Your welcome!

Hmmm.... Well it depends, none of the stuff in map editor was saposed to do what it does really, even line art I'm pretty sure. But in the short term yeah it's saposed to do that if you make mass 1 it becomes really unstable where the mouse could even use itself to push it around.

I can't remember and I'm unable to open TFM right now but you should be able to change the "Z" level of the hole so it's over it.

It's not possible, Tig has messed the leveling of the hole. If possible use the colorable background object from "Mice stuff", it can be set behind the hole.
